Loveland vs. A-Basin

Looking for a cheap trip out west December 19th-22nd. I've been to A-Basin, but not Loveland. I was wondering how the tree skiing is at Loveland compared to A-Basin and also the park. Thanks, and any further input is welcome and encouraged.

Uhhh, Loveland doesn't really have much tree skiing. If you're coming to colorado for tree skiing, go to Aspen or Vail or Wolf Creek or Monarch or anything but summit county (minus Breck).

yeh the only sort of good trees at loveland are off of chair 8. but still not really... hah. loveland is all about the ridge.

go with a-basin if that's the only 2 choices you have, some of the pali chair stuff can be fun. but a-basin is all about the east wall.

I'd say just spend more and go somewhere like vail for trees..

Lovelend's tree skiing isn't great, but if the ridge opens by the time you're here, i think it's some of the best in bounds big mountain skiing in the front range.

Loveland is the place to go. It has more acres to ski and better longer runs. If you meet a local you can really find great tree skiing. A-Basin has really short runs. You will be much happier with Loveland. No joke.

It sounds like you are looking for a cheap trip which kinda rules out some of the ski areas listed above. If you are coming out for park, don't go to loveland, but if you are coming to ski and for a bargain its should be awesome. Loveland doesn't have the best tree skiing ever, but its still fun. I would be glad to give you some advice or show you around. Also, a fair amount of loveland is above treeline and often pretty cold and windy, just so you know.

I just wanted to know which place in comparison (A-Basin and Loveland) had the better trees and park. I know they pale in comparison to any other Vail resorts mountain, but yeah, just trying to get the best bang for my few bucks. We'll be up at Loveland for sure the 19th to 22nd

Cool dude, I hope I was at least a little bit helpful. I'm sure you are gonna have a great time, Loveland already has a lot of terrain open and theres snow in the forecast! Plus, I'm personally a big fan of Loveland.
