...Was never filmed, according to Jackson. Sorry to get your hopes up. Besides which, the extended edition DVDs never come out until the fall, so you're gonna have to wait a few months to see any of the additional footy.

ya the extended version come out right before christmas, there will be a little bit of extras in the august release but no where near the amount in the extended verrsions

that's fucking lame.
i know so many people (who haven't read the books) who were very dissapointed with the ending of the movie. they wanted it to end after Aragorn became king. because they don't understand why it would go on. the movie doesn't mention anything about Saroman (sp?) and the battle of the Shire. (which is damn important in the books 'cause it shows how much the hobbits have matured since they left the Shire at the beginning.
but whatever. still amazing shit though.
and the extended version will probably come out mid to late october, just like the other two did.
10 hour long movie when all said and done though. pretty impressive.
