Lost my Passport....

Lost my Canadian Passport...I think.
I've looked high and low for it, last time I remember using it was 3 months ago to get my driver's license and I figured i put it in my top drawer with all my other important paperwork and ID's... I need it for tomorrow and when I looked it wasn't there. Searched the house for the past hour and can't find anything.
I have my old passport but it has hole punches in it because that's what they do when they expire.
Has this happened to any of you before? Any ideas?
 
Look really hard. If you can't find it, call the office that issues passports and see if there is a temporary solution, like using your birth certificate
 
I know you can get a temporary replacement one in a couple weeks if you meet the requirements. Getting a proper one takes even longer because they have to investigate it or something. If you're flying in Canada you don't actually need a passport, your driver's license will be fine, and if you're under 18 even that isn't required although it makes things easier.
 
if your drivig to the united States i think an expired passport is fine. well it is getting from the us into canada just not sure about the other direction
