my dad this time. after 30+ years of skiing and rocking the 210s in the alps back in his prime, my dad has finally decided to try snowboarding. he is 50 years old now.

im the only one left in my family that skis.

i think he'll be back when he catches a frontside edge and falls on his face. but i think it might take a couple times because he actually bought a board.

arbor roundhouse.

should i record him getting off the chairlift for the first time on a snowboard? yesssssss.

his first time will be at blue mountain during christmas holidays so if you are there and see him on happy valley, point and laugh. ill be there laughing. ahhhhhhaaaaaa

i don't really blame him he going through mid life crisis and wants to try something new.

i think it will be cool. should be interesting how long it takes for him to pick it up. my brother will be teaching him and he is a good all mountain boarder.

i have tried boarding. i found it really easy once you get the basics down. it took me one day and i can do almost any hill at my resort (horshoe valley, so thats no real accomplishment)

thats a really nice board, arbor has interesting core design, i think its bamboo or something, and is supposed to be really light and has the perfect flex

my dad skis and snowboards but for snowboarding he does slalom with hardboots which is tight but i hate normal snoboarding i tried i suck im stickin with sking

props to your dad. hes getting out there and trying something new. admittedly itd be better if he were switching from boarding to skiing...

ya my dad tryed it, it lasted 5 min and he went back to skiing. im the only one in my family who actually wants to ski. its sad

im an adult. 20 years old actually.

i never said anything about him breaking a bone. only falling on his face which is a joke. its going to be a lot of laughs and good memories will be had, as the day dad tried snowboarding. im proud of him wanting to try something totally different and taking a considerable risk considering he is self employed..

my dads switched over after 20 years... he tried skiing again 2 years after and he couldnt, so now he doesnt even own skis.

yeah i did the same. tried snowboarding one day and got the basics down the first run. my second run i 50-50ed a box and then went cruising on the hill. it is a nice change from skiing. it is much more a relaxed stance and stuff.
