Losing your park

Well this sucks and i will tell you why,

Last year at Le Relais(a small ski resort in Quebec)hired a snowboarder(Nick Roy)to design and run the snowpark.The park sucked,the jumps where small,the pipe was never groomed,the wall (cost:40.000$)was unusable.Plus many tourists got hurt because they suck.

We were lucky to have a mountain director that year that was for the newschool revolution.I did have some power over the park that year,which was great.

This year the mountain director was fired for letting me have power on the snowpark.So they hired a ex-hard-ass-ski-patrol that hates freeskiiers.His plan was to cut the park to let the race skiiers to have more space.So a some locals freeriders went to complain.Finaly Jean Lefevre(fucking ski patrol)let Guillaume St-Cyr to design the snowpark.

This year there is only 3 jumps, about 6 small rails and 1 half pipe.No more wall and a smaller run for freeskiiers.

This really sucks...

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.'

 
Le Relais needs to have a park. It's so important. Sell it to management by mentioning how popular Stoneham's park is, and that Le Relais could get in on some of that action. Remember to hype up the whole 'night skiing' thing. Le Relais is closer to Quebec City than either Stoneham or Mt. Ste Anne, and is on the way to Stoneham, so it follows that if you build a decent enough park with the right prices for lift tickets(including a 'park lift only' option), you'd poach some of Stoneham's night skiing business. And not only would you get the kids, but their parents as well. And we all know that parents are where the money's at.

I heard some good things about le relais.

Do they really want to make only 3 jumps????? wtf my resort is twice smaller and we have 3 jumps.

 
My ski hill is only like 100 vertical feet, and weh have total freedom to build what we want(i run the ski school). I'm really sorry to hear that things have gone badly there, those oldschoolers sometimes still try to crush us out, even though it's futile. totally futile. Don't lose out all hope though, there's this guy who runs a ski shop here who is really into starting up a freeride team, and he's an x-racer. Great guy. Sooner or later things will fix themselves there as they realize that a huge part of the market will soon become even more oriented towards newschool. Hold out.

Well the major problem is that the oldtimers still run the resort.They listen to old people complain.

If something raises the risk to the oldies they just take it out.Then the resort cries for help because less and less skier are comming.

The Relais All Stars left because the park sucked.3 Phils,St-Cyr,Paul Bergeron ect...

Freeskier here are a minority...

Back in my home town the owners of the resort wouldn't even let skiers in the park. It sucked, i would get my pass taken away every week.

Mind you this was 6 years ago.

 
that suck for you... just fuck them and go to stoneham... im very happy right now cause the park where i ride (st-come, where the d-jam is in march) will change of place and it will start at the top of the mountain and finish and the bottom... it will be so sick

go run the gates on twins and pull them when nobody's looking. do everything in your power to piss off the racers and ski patrol and when they ask, say there's nothing to do because they took away almost everything in your park

that'll work too, but it'll take more time and be harder. plus you get to break, not create stuff if you start picking apart their courses.

Teach them by going to another resort. And write them a letter telling them that you are doing that. And for those who have absolutely no other option resort wise, still write a letter and pretend you are going to another resort. They will get the clue if enough do it.

 
I dont think that they really care.They only listen to people that cant obey the freeskiers laws.

That what all the local pros did.

All the administration cares about is making the resort ''safe''
