Losing Weight

How hard is it to do cardio a few times a week and eat reasonably. It's not that tough to change body composition if you make it a priority. Just takes some willpower.

Any quick fix like this is a) incredibly unhealthy - tricking your body into accepting a 2000 calorie deficit is as bad as eating McDonald's 3 times a day, it's just the other extreme. You've probably fucked your thyroid, and you cannot maintain this long-term. Once you stop with this plan you'll just blimp up again over the next few months.

People need to stop looking for shortcuts and hit the goddamn weights. You want to use dietary advances to get an advantage, get a big tub of whey isolate, at least that shit ain't bad for you.

Thanks!! means a lot. Getting compliments from ladies is always the best. :)

And yea, thats understandable on the food thing. And yea, walking to work is great! And thats the same. When i started i ran a mile in 12:47 seconds. Timed myself this morning and it was 9:23 seconds. So thats pretty good to me.

My mom is doing HCG and It his helping to regulate her blood sugar because she has diabetes as well. It is working for her too which os awesome because she has heart disease and has already had one heart attack so it's good to see her getting in good shape. She is also training for a 5k right now which if you knew my mom is really impressive.

This so much. Congrats on losing the weight, but you're going about it in an extremely unhealthy manner and basically fucking up your body, so I wouldn't be so quick to give others advice on losing weight.

If you want to lose weight, do it right. 2Ibs a week. That is absolutely full retard what you're doing.

All it comes down to is calories in Vs. calories out. Simple as that. put yourself on a 2000 calorie a day diet and maybe do some cardio. Eat whatever you want so long as you stay in a deficit you will lose weight.

500 cals a day can't be healthy.

3500 calories per pound of fat, just put yourself in a diet with a 500 calorie daily deficit and you'll lose 1Ib a week. I know, it sound slow and tedious, but it will pay off because you will lose weight, it will be permanent, and it will be easy to keep up and be healthy too

Oh yea i know that its not a great thing to do. I at least have a big cup of coffee in the morning, then i snack on stuff when i get home. Im pretty active too. Thanks for the advice though!

Losing the weight can be difficult, congratulations.

I just lost a similar weight for my next film staring Adam Sanders called "Tummy Yummy Fun Time", its sure to be a big hit.

At first the diet was difficult, especially looking like this

But after hard work and training i finally got down to my target weight.

Okay with the hating.. makes me want to try harder. But thanks for the support and thanks from everybody

Lawl, taking the drops was essentially the form of an Methamphetamine, which helps control appetite, and etc, due to the fact of them basically being Meth. Gratzor on loosing weight that way.

I know this because an ex was prescribed Dextroamphetamines, an amphetamine in a capsule as a way for appetite control. As soon as your off them, your gonna eat so much shit up dude. Trust me, from personal experience, suffering with an addiction to amphetamines, and anorexia, drop 35lbs in 2 weeks, Just eat a lot healthier, 1k calories a day, and work out.

Well I want to say congratulations! I saw your post in LM about this and I meant to respond. You said that your parents haven't seen you and you didn't tell them about the weight loss, I'm so curious as to how that went when they finally saw you!

Also, I know nothing about weight loss, but is there a way you could slowly transition from using the drops to eating over 500 calories a day while sustaining the weight you are at now? I mean obviously you're going to have to make major dietary changes to keep your weight now, probably for the rest of your life, but if you go into that slowly will you be able to keep your weight down? Would that work? Since everyone is saying once you stop using the drops you will gain it all back.

Anyways, congrats! Stay healthy, eat healthy. You'll feel so much better.

2 females at my job did this, the drops. Lost the weight. Stopped the drops. Gained it back. Congrats and good luck. You tend to not keep the weight off if you don't take it off with healthy diet and exercise. You have to train your body to understand the new weight. And that takes time. You look great so keep it up! Maintain the new lifestyle kid :)

It took me about three months to lose like 55 lbs and my doctor goes holy shit thats great but thats extremely unhealthy you didn't take any supplements did you and I was like hellz to the no. And he said ok well then your a textbook person because not many people lose that weight the right way I told him all I did was stopped eating cookies, sugar, soda shit like that and started eating more protein's like burgers, chicken and switched to whole wheat pasta and more healthy foods and only for the most part I only drink water. On top of that I was running and lifting weights. Now I can eat what ever I want, but choose to keep it healthy for the most part and I don't gain weight because I still run and do some light workouts like pull ups or pushups with abs. This was me in April 2010 just to give you an idea (far left, I peaked at 216 lbs senior year)

When you do it the right way, you feel better and it's easy to maintain. You can't do anything with 500 calories, 500 calories basically means your going into the fat( stored calories) that you have to get energy for most of the day, which is why you saw results so quick. A growing teen/young adult should have about 3000 calories each day. Like someone said before I eat more than 500 calories in snacks each day! I don't mean this to be disrespectful to you, but don't take short cuts, IMO (people might dislike me for this) but taking supplements to lose weight just means your too much of a pussy to take the initiative and do it yourself and earn it yourself. If mean shit if I did it, anyone could do it.

I went from 180 lbs to 143 lbs in three weeks last summer, jogging, cycling and doing light exercise every day for about three hours. I only ate a few apples and carrots a day plus one warm meal a day and a handful of cashews, came down to something between 1500-1800 calories a day.

Even without an exercise routine it held up until got sick for a few months and bounced back to 165. Now I'm doing the same and already lost 13 lbs this week. 500 calories a day sounds a bit too low, though.

Well it was easy to hide it from them cause they were in germany and i was here in WA. And my mom absolutely freaked, she was so happy to see me. And my dad was really proud of me because i have always struggled with my weight.

But i saw my aunt and uncle yesterday who i really don't like, And the first thing my uncle asks me was if i was Bulimic.... and that caused me to tell him to fuck off...

But the drops go through your system, so you are actually having a 1200 calorie day diet, but you are only eating 500 calories worth. And yes, i continue to eat the chicken and steak and a lot of veggies, then you extremely slowly start to introduce the fats and oils. So like a week from today i can have half a slice of cheese or something. and etc.

Thank you though!

thats awesome man! But thats basically what i will be doing now. hitting the gym a lot and lifting weights, and just eating healthy. I have a healthy lifestyle from doing this, so i will hopefully be good with the eating.

This doesn't make any sense. Food has a set energy component - either you're eating 1200 calories or you're not. You can't "have a 1200 calorie diet but only eat 500 calories".

Personally I lost a shitload of weight a few years ago, and then spent the last year and a half putting weight back on the "right way". To compare the two, it's WAY easier to lose weight just doing cardio and a strict high protein low carb cal deficit diet (i.e. a weight loss diet) than it is to follow that up by eating well and consistently and getting the right workout regimen week after week to build muscle.

What you should be doing is something like Mike-O. Different people can stick with different regimes, and it's more important to have something you can realistically do on an ongoing basis than it is to optimize everything. I did mostly elliptical and rowing with light weight high rep, or even body weight stuff, about 75-25 cardio to weights. You end up skinny (but not strong) leaning down that way.

If I were to do it again I would do a wider range of cardio, my current cardio workout is only once a week when not doing weights - but it's recumbent bike 10mins, 55 flights of stairs, 2km row, 10mins elliptical, straight bike 10mins. Follow that up with 10 mins of core (I do 25 crunch / rest, 25 leg lift / rest, 25 extension / rest, 25 reverse crunch rest) and call it a day. If you keep your heart rate above 130 (which is super easy to do) it's a really solid workout and you don't end up labouring for 30 mins on one machine which is a pain.

This is exactly what im starting. im 180 hoping to drop to 160. only thing im worried about is im a self-employed landscaper, i work everyday 5-8 hours, and i never know what the job is gonna be. took out a fucking forest the other day, i feel like i might die doing some of the stuff i do if im not eating healthy amounts

congrats you look great. I've never personally been a fan of weight loss schemes. I think exercise and changing your diet is all you really need to do it. I lost 35 lbs for my H.S. grad 3 years ago and i've kept it all off. I still want to lose another 15lbs by the end of summer though. It's all about staying active and usually [with exceptions] I'm eating about 1000 cal/day. Drink a lot of water, work out 5-6 days a week even if it's for an hour, and cut out soda/breads/sugars etc.

500 cal for a guy is not right but it's working for you and hopefully you can keep it off! Congrats again!

Ive never been over weight, but Ive gained a very large interest in nutrition due to becoming quite underweight and malnourished as a result of an addiction to mdma and other various amphetamines. Since then ive spend hundreds of hours researching nutrition and plan to go to school for it after i go to culinary school. When you get down to it, the basics of gaining weight and loosing weight are surprisingly quite similar. If you really want to do it right then you would calculate out the macrobiotics of your foods, and follow a certain ratio of protein to meat to fat.

I think some of the most overlooked foods when people are trying to either gain or loose weight for health purposes are fats. Obviously eating saturated and trans fats is going to do you no good at all, but getting in healthy fats is very important. Olives and avocados, along with their respective oils are two very good sources of different mono and polyunsaturated fats. Hemp seeds provide you with your omega 3 and omega 6 in the perfect ratio to each other unlike any other plant. Chia seeds are the worlds highest source of omega 3. Most importantly people who want to loose weight should take virgin coconut oil. It is made entirely out a saturated fat called lauric acid. Now in any other situation i would say that saturated fat is bad, but lauric acid on the other hand is a very important fat which is only found in high concentrations in human breast milk, and coconuts. It will increase your metabolism, give you more energy, along with having an array of antioxidants and other immune boosting benefits.

ok this is gunna turn out being really long if i write out everything i have to say, so maybe ill come back to it later, but for now ill leave this short list of some healthy foods and their benefits

hemp seeds-complete protein(contains all essential amino acids), has more protein than any other seed, high in many supplements and minerals such as magnese, has a large amount of omega 3s and 6s in the perfect ratio

salmon-non land based protien can be very beneficial as i contains many amino acids not typically found in land dwelling meats. Very high amount of omega 3, the skin has the most omega, so dont pull it off when you eat it.

whey protein concentrate-dont buy the disgusting bodybuilding crap like muscle milk, but get something like a plain organic whey protein concentrate. Whey is the most bioavailable protein in the world.

Bison meat-very similar to beef, less fat more protein

wild boar meat-more protein than any other meat, its also delicious, imagine pork that you can cook medium rare

quinoa-amazing superfood, complete protein like meat and unlike other grains. Decent fiber content as well.

natural sweeteners-raw honey, maple syrup, coconut palm sugar etc. If your going to sweeten something what ever you do dont use that god awful cane sugar. At this point i have almost completely eliminated it from my diet. Something with a lower glycemic index will be better for someone trying to loose weight.

sprouted foods are also very good as the sprouting process makes your body do less work to digest foods, thus making the nutrients more absorbable.

ok ill it at that for now...

/\sorry just saw theres a few typos in there, namely you should follow a ratio of protien to carbs to fat not protien to meat to fat haha

Hey guys I just want to say that I am stoked about seeing this thread. Losing weight wasn't a huge deal for me since I only ever weighed like 128 to 125. My stomach was always swollen from my celiacs before i understood how to eat correctly and that went on for a few years so I just never felt comfortable. I started eating a strict diet and going outside to burn more energy to be in a better mood. I'm 5'2 and today weight 112 which is rad since I honestly haven't tried to loose weight, it isn't a huge amount of weight but I just wanted to say how great and confident I feel afterwords and hope that everyone loosing weight appreciates their body more and more each day. If anyone has any questions about alternatives to eat instead of their fav foods I have done a lot of exploring and am an awesome cook. So big k+ to everyone trying to do good for themselves and good luck!

honestly this may be true but the sped up metabolism always makes me way hungry. Like if I wake up at 10 I can go til 4 not eating no problem, but if I eat something small when I wake up I'll be hungry by noon.

Also, after a few years of college I've built up a solid beer belly. I'd hit the gym every day and lost like 20 pounds in 2 months and gained a bunch of muscle but the fucking gut wont go away. Eating healthier is easy, working out is easy, its cutting all the beer out of my life that is a bitch...

ahhhh. wrong. HCG is a hormone that is released in pregnant woman, it increases metabolism.

it was more than water weight, and i did what i had to do to make lightweight. I was also told three different weights: 165, 160, 155. I wanted to make sure i was under the lowest, because i didn't drive across the state for crew and not have my boat race.

You cannot temporarily take a pregnancy hormone while simultaneously subjecting yourself to calorie/nutrition deficit and expect to maintain this weight loss. Becoming healthy is a lifestyle choice that takes discipline to maintain. Short term weight loss is only successful if you pair it with longterm change.

agreed, but he may very well make a lifestyle change. he is exercising and enjoying it, and likely realizes he needs to change his eating habits ling term. Although unhealthy, sometimes big changes in weight short term provide the motivation for real change long term.

Congrats toasty!

I made a thread quite a few months ago about this. I went to the Y every day with one of my friends and he went from around 230 down to 210 in about 2 1/2 months. I went from around 265 down to 241..now i'm hovering around 250. i've stopped going to the Y and started lifting weights. Now i haven't been doing anything. I haven't been gaining weight at all. And did gain some muscle mass..but not much. I've went from lifting 15lbs on a curling bar to 50lbs. And dumbells from 15 to 35's. But i want to start my junior year of highschool with a fresh start. I' don't want to look like this at homecoming next year.

302067_1577737781180_576705787_n.jpg

I don't know where to start for a diet plan. I know not to drink any soda..high sugar drinks and i've been slacking on that lately but not for long. I still drink a lot of water constantly...But what i'm asking is if someone could PM me a food guide on what to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Like actual foods to make because i don't know where to look for foods.

I know what to do for working out/running. I'm just lacking the knowledge of nutrition.

Thanks in advance!

im going to suggest the paleo diet. cut out your processed foods, grains, dairy, swweteners and thats about it. eat whole foods- animal proteins, vegetables, fruits berries nuts seeds. im able to eat a lot on it and not gain weight. look it up, lots of information out there on it on the interwebz.

lol. I'm usually so nice but your asshole posts make me laugh. it's probably because bitches love assholes.

Also move to Breck with 9600 ft above sea level, you will cut so much wait I lost 30 pounds. However it was mostly muscle not fat.
