Losing Weight

i know a lot of people will not care about this because so many people on here are skinny as fuck already. But this thread is more for the chubbers on NS, or people that just want to shed a few pounds, even though this diet is more for people that really want to lose weight. Like myself.

But some of you may have seen my pic in LM, i have just recently gone on a weight loss journey and have lost 45 lbs to the day.

I worked out and tried to eat healthy obviously, but it just wasnt working as well as i wanted. So i talked to my good friend who is on a diet right now, called HCG. Some of you may have herd of it, some not.

But what it is, is you take these drops 4 times day that open up your metabolism and starts to take out all the fat from your body. These drops also are make you feel full, and a good thing why it does this is because on this diet, you are on a 500 calorie a day diet. Yup, only 500 calories, but with these drops and the food you eat, doesnt make you ever feel hungry.

So i went on this diet May 1st and the first 2-3 days were hell, it is really hard to get used to eating such a small amount of food in a day. But it is damn worth it in the end. And on this diet they say you are not supposed to work out..... which is completely strange to me. but if you work out to much, your body will go into starvation mode, and instead of getting rid of all the fat, it just keeps all the fat because your body thinks you are starving. But i didnt listen to that, i cant stand paying a monthly membership to YMCA and not use it. So everyday i ran a mile, and did very low weights for about 10-20 mins.

Whats also good about running everyday was that i have dropped 3.5 minutes off my mile time, so that was another awesome thing to notice.

Last thing, this diet you can only get from doctors and you will spend about 600 bucks for the liquid in a shot form... or you can buy it at MaxxNutrition like i did. DONT buy it at walmart or anything else.. IT WILL NOT WORK.

So yep, anybody that has anymore questions about it or losing weight, im your man. I will be off the drops for good now and will be on a maintenance phase where i slowly start to introduce fats, and oils and bread and everything else.

Congrats man, my pet peeve is fat people that do nothing about their weight. I love seeing people getting active and losing some pounds.

congrats man! did you find yourself doing others things to occupy your hands/mind instead of eating? one of my biggest problems is that i have a lot of nervous energy so i always want to be doing something and so i find myself just eating constantly all day sometimes

good on you then. I'd imagine staying active would be key now. at least until your body can adjust for the weight loss (digest all the excess adipose tissue that's no longer needed etc)

I'm guessing the drops did nothing and it was the significant reduction in calories / day. Burn more calories in a day then you consume = weight lose. Congrats and good luck maintaining your new weight.

Yea man, i am graduating high school wednesday, so i was focused on getting all my shit done. And just not being at home! try to hang out with friends as much as possible and just not be in your house.

VinnyF - Yea, just gotta do a bunch of cardio and weight lifting. Otherwise i will just gain it all back. But thats also what the maintenance phase is for. i eat about 1200 calories, but still like steak and chicken.

these are my jeans from before i began my subway diet

like literally i would go into the subway and jet copious amounts of heroin, often for days and forget to eat

damn! that's a lot of weight lost. props. it's always shocking to see a fat friend turn fit, a few people i know had a transformation like this.

and prepare for eheath's pm

be careful though, lots of people who lose weight rapidly gain it all back cause your metabolism literally can't take that drastic a change. its much more healthy to drop 1-2 pounds a week, cutting off 500-1000 calories off your recommended daily intake per day (through both dieting and exercise) because with that the weight will actually STAY off, but im not trying to undermine your efforts at all. congratulations, and i hope this new change will be there for keeps and that you enjoy a new healthy, active lifestyle. im just saying be careful.

you look great, though. im super stoked for you, brother.

Dang, that doesn't sound healthy, but hey, you're looking great! Whatever works, I guess! For me it's not the poundage that matters, it's how I look... running, pilates, yoga, biking, swimming, and something called body pump seems to be working! I'd like to look a little more toned, but that will come soon, I'm sure. I don't eat badly by any means, but I don't count my calories or freak out about eating carbs.

now all your hoodies and tall tees will seem even more thug!!!11!!

now for a crazy 6 pack, do this every day

I came in here wanting to make fat jokes and be mean but now I feel bad.. anyway congrats man keep it up!

I know. Thats why i kinda just keep eating what i am for awhile and will start to introduce the fats and stuff. But i know what you mean, so many people just gain it right back. But hopefully i will not be like that. Thanks though man!

for sure. all you can really do is make sure you maintain an active lifestyle and cut out those filler foods! salads, fruits, veges, a bowl of granola, meat, shakes. that's all you need! say no to those fuckin crackers and bread and bagels and all that shit people snack on (and especially at night when you just pack it). the best thing you can do for yourself is just go to bed hungry and grab some food in the morning.

Im hesitant to use drugs to lose weight, but I'm gonna start eating apples instead of cheezits and stuff, and do some core workouts. Inspiyahd?

I need to lost like 5-10 pounds. so I'm assuming this diet won't work for me? or maybe do it for like a week?

female pregnancy hormones....no thanks. if you're going to take drugs to lose weight, T3. google it.

ultimately though, losing weight is simple math...gotta burn more than you take in. same for gaining weight....gotta take in more than you burn.

well i mean you can. but the drops are $$$. Just eat chicken/steak, veggies, and run a couple miles a day. And drink like 2-3 gallons of water a day

Congrats man thats great! The fact that you worked for it too makes it a lot better. Haha And now you are gonna look steezy as fuck in all of your old larger clothes! 10/10K

Dude, didnt read all of it but great work on losing weight! Keep up the work! I agree everyone on this site has wicked metabolisms. I used to be like super skinny then college came with endless food. I graduated a year ago and made a new years resolution to lose the extra weight.

The best piece of advice is that things take time. I have just thought of a quote from Into the Wild to not necessarily be strong but to feel strong.

Ayy man congrats on losing the weight, it will be really nice for the summer time.

Have you considered what your going to do when your done with the diet?

My parents did this diet and they lost a bunch of weight fast, but my dad lost alot of stregth in the gym, and when they were done the weight came right back faster then they lost it.

Diets like these seem to work for the meen time, but a majority of the weight your losing is about 1/2 or 2/3 muscle, with only 500 calories your metabolism is burning through those calories like crazy, and will eventualy tap in to your muscles for more energy. As soon as your off the diet the weight will come back just as easy as it came off.

Diets arent the best way to go through life trust me, the best way is just live a healthy life style this may take a while longer, but the results will last longer, excersize and eat healthy whole foods, this includes

-Lots of veggies,

-Whole wheat breads, pastas, brown rice, and oatmeal

-Plenty of fruit

-Lean Protein (Chicken, Turkey, Fish and lean Beef)

-Avoid any added sugars

-Also drink a ton of water and avoid any juices or pops

Now im no expert, but this has worked for me very well, I lost about 10 pounds of fat, and put on ten pounds of muscle, went from a keg to a defined 6 pack. Also lots of cardio will help, and if you are at a caloric deficit by the end of the day, lets say by about 200 or 500 calories you could see a loss of 1lb of fat a week.

This dude has some great advice. http://scoobysworkshop.com/

nahh

my dad almost did the same thing through straight working out and simply watching what he ate, no diets, no supplements, no pills, no nothing. lost 50 pounds in 2 months.

DBAKE - I know. i am worried about that happening. But i also kept doing weights during it, so i kept my muscles up as best i could. But i will be going to the gym every day and stuff to help it. but i am nervous about that situation.

Nice job dude! My school lunch is really unhealthy, and cold and nasty, so the second half of the school year to the end i stopped eating lunch. I dont eat breakfast either, so i would only have dinner each day. It sucked at first, and i used to eat a ton of food. Now i can tell im a lot slimmer and eat healthier too, and now i eat more. I didnt do it to lose weight i just did it because our lunch sucks and i didnt want to pack.

Hahaha win, but this seems like a good thing I could do during the summer considering the fact I way around 230 and I'm 6ft

that's not a good way to lose weight. eating only one meal a day will slow your metabolism down. it's actually better to eat several small meals throughout the course of the day rather than one ginormous meal once a day so as to keep your metabolism going strong.

Hooray! When I saw your post in LM I was impressed. Now I have seen your before picture and I am even more impressed!!!

I lost 20 lbs since October(ish) but I could never suffice on 500 calories a day. I just ate better and cut out all the crap in my life. I barely drink any more. I walk 2.5 miles to and from work each day and I also go to the gym. I feel amazing and I am healthy and I can run a mile in under 10 minutes easily. It's such a good feeling :)

I am so stoked for you though. Now just make it a permanent change and keep it off! It will make your life so much better in the long run!
