Losing skis while driving.

One of my worst nightmares came true today, as we were driving back from Snowpark our ski rack opened up, and as we looked trough or back window we could see 3 pair of skis flying around, two pairs were mine, my pretty much brand new armada skis landing on the street.. they are all scratched up and my bindings are bent and scratched as well..

Happy there was not a close car behind us tho..

Ever happend to you guys?

almost gave me a heartattack.

same haha
but you should have done what i do, get my friends to tow me to the bus stop with their cars. when we have enough snow to do so

that's terrifying if you roll your car in the ditch or something. nothing like a bunch of ginsu knives flying around the car.

almost happened to me once. the front of the ski rack popped open but the other one stayed clamped, saw the shadow and pulled over immediately

We can't prove that is actually happend, or that it was not our fault, as the skirack is still in tact. its a lost case.

once forgot to put up the tailgate on my buddys truck with all the skis in back. spilled all over the road

me too. unless i got more than 3 people in the car....then i use rack

sorry to hear about your new armadas OP :(

me and my bud drove 2 hours to our ski hill with the box open the entire way luckily nothing fell out

haha, quite similar one, i was a ski instructor for a youth skicamp in kronplatz italy, all our skis and gear were in a trailer behind the travelling bus, it took us till insbruck (about 2hours driving) before i stepped up to have a chat with the driver and looked in the sideview mirrors and i calmly noted that we had forgotten the trailer .... :)

that was fun !

I'm always afraid this will happen to me. I feel like bikes are going to fall off my bike rack all the time too. I usually just put stuff inside the car unless there isn't enough room.

this is my worst fear. I get so paranoid when my skis are on the roof rack. I look through the sunroof like every ten minutes to make sure they're still there.

saw a pair of AR6's on I-70 into denver earlier this spring. destroyed.

never hurts to double check that the rack is closed all the way.

I always put my skis in the back and have my friends on the rack... hah

This Happend to my bike on the way to back home from mtb, didn't even notice for a 1/2 mile.

fuckin sucks its happened with my snowboard, my skis, and a surfboard. i should probably just kill myself

Freshman year of college... I went skiing with a few friends and on the way home heard a loud ass noise. After a couple more minutes more of driving I realized what happened, got out and checked, mine were the only skis to fly away somehow. Threw it in reverse on the highway and discovered that they got run over and completely destroyed. Then wondered the road for about fifteen mins trying to collect the the pieces of my bindings. Sucked dick
