First off, you said quebecers are not a race. Thatis true but the canadian government recognised us as a nation so yes we have our own culture.
Even tho I think this culture is slowly dissapearing since our youth follow trends from the stastes and begin to live a similar lifestyle. we still have our own culture and the language we speak is one of major aspect of it. Very few Quebecers dont understand the fact that it's usefull to speak a little bit of english so they can interact with the rest of the world and Canada.
Now about Quebec separating form Canada. Do you even know why they wnated to separate??? Do you really think it's because they dont like ontarians and people from other provinces???
They just wanted to have the freedom to make choices for themselves in every aspect of the society. It takes a lot more time when something have to go trought both the provincial and the federal system before you can makje a move. That's one of the reason amongts a bunch of them. It's true that some ignorant people wanted to seperate for other reasons that I could qualify as stupid. Those people who didnt know why they wanted to separate are just as ignorant as the people from the other provinces who didnt leave the French doing their own thing.
The NO party that won the last referendum got money from sources from the other provinces and the federal government wich is totally unfair and illogical. Would the Yes party have won if that money wouldnt have shown up??? I think so. would it have been a good thing for us??? I'm not sure, and I believe it could have made our youth turn into young americans even faster.
I think most of your post in this thread are totaly based on a personal opinion instead of facts and you dont seem to understand the motive behind what is going on in Quebec.

The question I pose to you is what is wrong with American culture? I realize you are trying to preserve yours but being as you say "American" is not a bad thing in the least.

i have alot more faith in the human race than any other species, if you were a little fox or something you would getting your shit stolen all the time, without the ability to bitch about it. and you would have all these other animals in the animal kingdom killing your kids and trying to kill you.i just hate it when people bitch about humans being so bad, when really we are one of the nicest, least cruel creatures on the planet.

you cant blame animals, they act based on instincts whereas us, we have the ability to think and still be cruel, consciously
obviously their are gunna be people portraying stereotypes. obviously some quebecers are gunna get pissed off at rich wasps who think they own the place. but those of us with positive morals just need to keep on trucking. stay above the negative and be positive in the most dire circumstances. your positive attitude will rub of on people when they see that they are being the assholes.
to the thread creator - i went to crescent. stuff gets stolen. it obvioulsy sucks, probably one of the most frustrating things that can happen. but there is no reason to ever do the same to the next guy. shit will even out if you stay positive and look out for others, cause others will look out for you. when you see something is not right do something about it, its definitely one of the most admirable traits one can have.

The other day I had 40 dollars in my wallet because I needed to pay my mom back for something. I was going to give it to her that night cause I just got it out of the bank, well I go to give it to her and its gone after I remeber specifically having it in my wallet. I went skiing that day so im pretty sure someone went in my wallet and took it. It is honestly the worst feeling ever i would never steal something from anyone and now something i worked for is gone. It rude and inconsiderate and it ruined my day, in this day in age you can trust no one but yourself.
