I am from Quebec. And, I am a Canadian citizen from birth. French Canadian is not a race, not an army, not an invading force threatening your "patriotism". I can speak in both languages and I am here, in Ontario for 3 years now. I see a lot of useless hate against Quebecer. Why, because of ignorence. Do you think the referendum in 95 didnt piss me off? Well, it did because I heard the lies and the propaganda from the PQ. I got beat up at school for holding my beliefs. Polls show only 5% of the population still want a seperation, not 55%.

Have you ever been to Montreal...or even out of your provence? I have. There is this great city called Richmont, and its 100% english speaking Quebecers. So dont give me this boo hoo Quebecers refuse to speak english.

Second, have you seen bilingual signs far from the boarder? I havent seen very much in Ontario...yes I live there. So dont give me that boo hoo crap about biligual sign crap, so what, you get to see it in another language.

The law 101 refreigns Quebecer of living in english. Does it piss me off YES, I HATE IT, so does most people here.

I had to learn english too in high school, so cut the crap about learning a new language, at least you will learn something at school.

We share a culture, Ontario and Quebec. Its been that way for a long time, a very long time. The main fight was about the english converting the french. The french resisted, that is where the hate begins. But things cooled down. Quebecers (most) have accepted the fact that we are neighbours and we will be together for a long time.

So here is my point: I dont send direct hate to you, but then you show me your hate and tell me Im the racist. So please read and keep an opened mind, the better we get along, the stronger we will be. remember that patriotism is the love for a country...united, what you were doing there is call ultranationalism. So remember this too:"we are all in this together"
 
see but the reason people vote for the Bloc is because they get in there and bitch about how Quebec gets jack shit and we get hooked up with government $$$$

They can never get enough seats to seperate anyways so how are people voting them in to seperate?

Most of my friends are french so am I but I have some english friends too and no one hates on anyone, sure there are some people who don't like english people as much as there are tools like you who hate quebec, you are just being a ridiculeous stop answering this thread.
 
I can tell you are from Quebec, I respect your opinion but that is absolute SHIT. The Bloc got 49 seats and the next closest party were the liberals with 14! 14! FUCKING 14 SEATS! I live in Ontario and there are bilingual signs on every government building or other signage made by the government. That is not so in Quebec, they just give a big FUCK YOU to English Canadians by doing that. I'm sorry Quebecers dont share your enlightened view, the country would be better for it. The numbers speak for themselves.

The bloc is not a national party, but that what democracy is all about. It doesnt matter how many seats the bloc got. nonem they dont really sway decisions anyway. They are just there. You can start the Ontario Federal Party if you want.

All Canadian signs are biligual. How I know, there are Canadian services in Quebec. My dad works for the Canadian Coast guard. Road signs are a provincial thing, so the provincial government can chose to be biligual or not depending on provincial legislature. Ontario signs are all in english. In quebec, they are french and in New Brunswick, they are biligual. Canadian constitution recognizes both languages, so you should to.

You tend to generalize a lot about other people, just because we live together, doesnt mean we have the same voice. This is comparable to some american users here think about bad things in canada by generalization. And yes it is offensive. So the best thing to do is not say a thing, because words can hurt and build barriers which are extremely difficult to bring down. I try to live with idiots on newschoolers.com, dont be one of them.

What do you mean all signs are bilingual yet road signs depend on legislature? There is a road sign just down the street from my house and it clearly states in french and english what the road coming up is.

It has been requested by a party (group of citizens). The Ontario government probably agreed to make it bilingual, you know, to serve the public.
 
In in the georgian bay, all signs are english. They may make them bilingual in bigger cities to help immigrants adapt to a new country.

It is a hole, but I have seen several provinces, most signs are in english.

But, you do critize on 10year old info and to the general misconceptions. Its better to come and see it for yourself. Dont talk until you havent experienced it. And if you did and had a bad experience...well bad experience happends, I got called a lot of things since I moved here because of my origins. Maybe enbrace difference, dont resist it.

To be honest, I was going to write about me giving you the e-finger because of your first post. I just found that being nice is a better way to convince you that Quebec isnt such a bad place.

I remember, when I got into Georgian, one guy hated the french. every shot he could make at me, he would make it count. But, a year later, he came back to me and apologized in front of everyone and told me about his trip to Quebec City and how it kicked ass. He admitted his mistakes and preconceptions.

I hate you and I've never even met you. I'm kind of getting the feeling they hate you for other reasons than you speaking English. You're presenting yourself as a dick. Don't complain about bilingual signs in a bilingual country, because if you can't tolerate it in a bilingual country, then just move to a country that speaks one language. Here in California, Mexican immigrants want bilingual signs, while we don't even speak the Spanish language. Over half of those immigrants are illegal. They don't even belong here and they're bitching because they can't read the signs. They don't even fucking belong here. So stop your bitching. Sorry, that was a little off topic, but it reminded me of that, and I always get mad thinking about that.
 
Quebecers think they are entitled to more than the rest of us EVEN THOUGH they were opposed to all major wars and never fought with Canada. They claim it is due to culture but they simply do not want to fight for the sake it will inconvenience English Canada.
 
Never fought with canada in wars? dude your pissing me off again. We are against wars because the majority of Quebecer believe in peace. But when duty calls, the nation responds, even Quebec. Quebecer died in Afganistan, people I know kept the peace in Kosovo.

BTW, Im not entitled more because I live in quebec. I dont ever make claimes based on culture. STOP saying "they" when you generalize citizens in another province. your generalizations are not true.

I am talking about WW1 and 2 not Kosovo which barely rated a sidebar compared to World war 1 and 2, sure they were terrible but not NEARLY on the scale of the world wars.
 
Quebec soldiers were involved in WW2 due to the conscription. Listen man, Quebec=Ontario in every way. So please, keep your opinions to yourself. Quebec is not the Federal favorite kid. Stop finding reasons to justify your hate towards another province, and just deal with it.

Canada is a massive country that is ethnically divided, there are bound to be people who feel alienated. Believe it or not there are Western seperatist movements too. BC, AB, QU and the Maritimes have all complained about being misunderstood by Ottawa,but Quebec is french so they stick out more and have gone a little further.

But if we're going to generalize hmmmmm maybe its Ontario that is there problem of Canada by thinking the rest of the country resolves around them? When the majority of the industries, resources and exports come from out west.

Nah im only kidding, I have no beefs with ontario, met many of great people from there. Just saying you shouldn't generalize a province over a referndum from the 90's.

the other week i went night skiing one friday. There's no one in the lodge when i get there just a group of kids in the 12-16 range, all with 2000 dollar setups that mommy and daddy bought for them. now me and my freinds put on our shit beside them, and i throw my park gloves in my bag because its kinda cold, then i throw my bag in a locker but i dont lock it because 1. i didnt have the 2 dollars, and i figured that no one was there so no biggy. so i get back and look in the locker and my bag is gone, i look around and its beside the lockers and all the pockets are open and my headphones and gloves are gone, it was obviously one of those kids but none of them well admit it.
