I just saw this movie yesterday and it was freakin good. It made me want to learn how to start skateboarding. Good movie, good soundtrack too. If you havent seen it, you should check it out.

 
I've been wanting to see it, but theres a fear in the back of my mind that they're going to make it appeal to the modern skate crowd, and make it gay., I wanna see it full on 70's with nothing changed. That would be sick. Seeing how it really happened.

I think what triggered my fear is how they play that stupid Green Day song in the trailer. "I walk the lonley road, I think Im goth but I am really not. I wear black eyeliner, Boulivard of broken dreams" something like that

^yes ^^no. the tony hawk part was hilarious man. he wasnt even in the previews, how would it be just to bring in kids? its just funny, in a way its saying " im tony hawk and i cant skate"

i like how the real jay adams bought beer from the jay adams in the movie and the same goes for stacy.

I saw it at a premier that a radio station had in MN and they gave us all shirts and a big movie poster and a smaller one too.

its all 75-77(i think). And yes it was really good and not all gay to appeal to people, its pretty true to itself.(i think)

Really fucking good movie. Funny and pretty cool. Def worth the 7 bucks to see it.

i think it looks pretty gay. it seems like they just want to promote the hardcore rebel breaking all the rules cause I AM NOT A MACHINE sort of thing. i liked the documentary a lot though.

The type of stuff they did back then with those skinny bannana boards was 70's. 80s was when they had those big fat boards with neon green and pink all over them and a few skateparks popping up arcoss the country. I haven't seen it but I think it's about thte birth of skating, isn't it? Cause if it is than it's def 70's.

actually, in the 60s, everyone rode freestyle, on little bannana boards with clay or steel wheels. it was supper sketch. freestyle was alot like the shit you see today, but way less complex. lots of spins, board walking, manuals, ect. then, in early 70s, skating hit by something that totally changed everything: tyhe urathane wheel. introduced my cadillac, this allowed all sorts of new shit. now, alot of peeps still skated freestyle, but this is were the z boys and others like them started to take real advantage of the wheels, and really started to rip surf style shit. bank riding, and latter, pool riding took off, and freestyle adventually faded. in the 80s, vert ridding was super polular, and those fat, ugly "fish" boards desroyed vert. (if youve never ridden one, go buy one. they still make um. youll never find a better deck for pools.

i thought it was sweet and pretty accurate to the documentary, i need to get a mexican woman to roll joints and light em for me, but yeah i thought it was extremely well done, pretty sad at parts but overall enjoyable, i really need to get a long board and just rip sick turns

 
Stacey Peralta is a little self-absorbed though, you have to admit. HE was the only one in that movie who didnt come across as even a little bit of a jerk.

this is my new favorite movie. so rad. i think it was better than the documentary because it showed more of the actual lifestyle than just skating. right after we saw it my friends and i went to go skate and we got kinda tipsy. we were longboarding around at like 12 30. it was way fun but then this pig comes up to us. luckaly we didnt get fined or anything and he didnt know we had been drinking.

Peralta wrote the movie... he's the only one of the 3 main guys who doesnt come across as an asshole. He's pretty much the best skater, the best looking, and the nicest guy in the movie.

 
this movie sucked so fucking hard. i watched the documentary.. soooo much better. do not waste your money on this shit video.
