Presented to you by the fine people at Salomon, LORD OF THE PARK is pretty much the best day of your life. Other than the fist time you got laid of course.

Clear your calendars. Practice your Polish Donuts. And get ready for the greatest day in hot dogging history. March 3, 2007 is the time. Manning Park Resort (granola is not mandatory) is the place. www.manningpark.com

If you have not heard about Lord of the Park, it consists of a custom built park, tonnes of skiing, thousands and thousands of dollars worth of cash and prizes, and way too much Microsoft Paint.

Salomon will be dishing out 3 pairs of skis and bindings to each AM winner. Tonnes of other prizes will go out to every other winner and contestant provided by sponsors like Oakley and others TBA. There will be way too many prizes to go around so make sure your car is empty to haul everyting back. Start thinking of something creative to do because I will be giving stuff away for what ever reason I want.

Pro prizes are going to be creative and valuable so bring your A game. Wads of cash, custom Surefoot boots, and other dope shit should be expected.

Remember, LORD OF THE PARK is just for fun. It's all about skiing. You just happen to get a lot of dope gear along the way. So if you ain't down with competing, just ski for kicks, or poach the course. If you think you suck, WHO CARES. Show up and have a good time. I will make the rest happen.

Pretty sure it's a requirement. I will be, of course. I need to rig up some sort of cooler backpack to carry beer around in while skiing.
 
I doubt anyone else wants to drink out of my camelbak, and I wouldn't let them anyway.
 
it depends if your a dirty yank. there's tonnes and tons, pretty sure they are a different amount but they are both a butt load, so they both can apply. i assume tonnes is metric, damn french
 
A tonne is 1000 kilograms. A ton is 1016 kilograms. Why do I know this? Dunno.
 
This event will be one that will keep you coming back to compete every year.

All Amatear Athletes should take notice that Salomon along with other companies will be watching for new ski talent at this event. So be there and be seen!

This contest is sick. Worth going to for sure, and I'll do my best to finally make it out to chill, ski, and have fun watching sickter park skiers try to outdo each other.

Once you're all done competing at this, come out to Cypress on March 10th for Return of the Jibber. It's a rail jam, and I promise it won't rain like it did last year. Sick prizes, super chill small event, good people. In no way is this rail jam a substitute for Lord of the Park, so make sure you go to that too. Brian works too hard for you punks not to show up!

Heads up everybody! The greatest show on Earth has returned! I’m not talking about the Ringling Brothers, it’s time for Lord of the Park! This third annual event, presented by Salomon is on March 3, 2007. It will be returning to the massive park at Manning Park Resort, BC. Look forward to

giant rails, super booters, and more fun than you can shake a stick at. Because, in the end, that is what skiing is really about.

The chill condensed slopestyle format will allow you to watch everyone’s run and then drop when you want. A combination of huge, technical, and long smooth rails will kick off the run leading you into a final super booter with a smaller option for those looking to try out a new trick or

two.

The qualifying round will be followed by a final to determine the winners in the Pro Men’s, Amateur Men 15 and up, Amateur Men Under 15, and Women’s Open categories. Don’t stress though, show up have a good time and there will be plenty of prizes to go around. Amateur prizes include Salomon skis and bindings, Oakley Outerwear and Eyewear, and Bern Helmets. Up for grabs in the Pro category is a 4 person cat-skiing trip at Powder Mountain Cat Skiing, a custom boot package from Surefoot, and tonnes of cash! There will plenty of schwag for everyone in attendance soshow up and just have fun.

This event is based on style and creativity, so leave the hucking at home and dial those tricks in. Points are awarded for style, uniqueness, run creativity, and difficulty. Pros will need to bring their entire bag of

tricks because each run has to be completely different from the previous one.

Registration is from 8:30 am to 10:30 am in the lodge at the bottom of the ski hill on the day of. The entry fee is $25 and there will be discounted lift tickets available. CASH ONLY for the registration fee and the discounted lift ticket. Helmets are mandatory so bring your brain bucket.

This fine event is presented by the kind people at SALOMON, with additional support from our friends at OAKLEY, POWDER MOUNTAIN CAT SKIING, SUREFOOT, BERN HELMETS, THEORY-3 MEDIA, and NEWSCHOOLER.COM. Obviously without the dedicated people at Manning Park Resort this event would not be possible.

I guess you were mainly wondering what the format was soo...4 rails across the top. Long down rail, big flat down rail, huge down flat down, and a small flat rail. End of the course will have a giant booter and a little booter, there might be some small tech thing to finish off the course as well. Basically a condensed slopestyle, or a backwards version of Empire Shakedown. 3 qualifying runs, drop when you want. Then The finals. Number of people through depends on number in each category.
