Loose bindings?

so my look bindings on my troublemakers are wiggly. you can shake the toe/heel pieces a little but its not that bad. should i tighten the screws (because there visibly not in all the way) or will that do something bad because the glue holding the screws would be cracked and shit??
 
how long ago were they mounted? if it was in the last few months and you hung on to your receipt take them back to the shop they were mounted at.
 
it was in the last few months yeah, but i tossed the receipt. im think if i went back there they would recognize me tho
 
i dunno i think your skis can take a third mount. besides are you going to have a redrill or just have them reset the bindings. if you do have a redrill just have them fill the old holes with epoxy, you should be fine.
 
well, you could try that and see what happens. i think you may be right about the glue though. try screwing them in next time you ski, then at the end of the day check and see if they wiggle. if they do, take 'em into the skop.
 
I have rossi p14's (red) from a couple years ago and after like 4 days on them they loosen up. It sucks real bad and It's not worth going to a shop for me because I've done that and they loosen back up, so I just keep a screw driver in my car and then tighten them up whenever I can wiggle my foot in the binding. It only happens on my left binding too, so I can pretty much eyeball the forward pressure and I haven't had a problem with it yet, both bindings still release very well and expectedly.
 
you can unscrew them all the way and use some epoxy or other adhesive to reset the screws... I dont think it will harm the holes, just dont tighten them so that you strip the threads of the holes out... unless the holes are stripped, then you need a remount
 
wrong. you dont need a remount, in the sense that they need to redrill his skis. they can helicoil the mounted holes. if this becomes enough of a problem that you cant fix it by tightening the screws, talk to your shop.
 
Just retighten them as hard as you can by hand. Don't epoxy them - the ski will be fucked if you ever want to take them off. Binding glue doesn't hold the screws at all, or seal water; it's only purpose is lubrication.
 
salomon and line bindings suck, the lines were the worst purchase ever made, good innovation but bad construction. Line needs to make it the same but put better quality construction into it and lighter components.

binding glue doesnt seal water? What happens when you expose wood or foam to water? Does rot ring a bell? How about if you get water in your laminate... does that water freeze... does freezing water expand and promote delam?

Why not use epoxy? How will the ski be fucked exactly? Epoxy will seal water and provide extra hold on threads as will exterior wood glue... Why does a shop glue and plug old holes?

Please answer these questions for me because I think every shop is mounting their skis wrong according to you...
 
If you are talking about just holding your ski and jiggling the binding, that is normal for P12 heelpieces. The toe wings might move a bit too, put your boot in the binding on the ground (foot not in it obviously) and it shouldn't move at all. If you can wiggle your ski with your foot in the boot there is also a problem.
 
The screw itself seals water. The head tech at my shop doesn't even use glue on his own skis and he's the best skier I know. Epoxy will glue the screw into the core permanently - if you tried to remove an epoxied screw you would damage the core. Binding glue is for lubrication only.
 
yea he's right^ im a shop tech and the glue is there for a reason. we dont need it for any lubracation or any crap like that. it helps hold the screw in place and seal water out. if it wasnt needed we wouldnt use it
