LOON HYPE THREAD

im going to squash this thread before it blossoms. no loon this weekend. waterville will most likely be open, however.
 
They tweeted one hour ago:

Good News! We will start making snow Thursday night! Our forecasted opening day is Friday, Nov. 26th! Stay tuned on Loonmtn.com and Facebook

It's a damn shame.

i think u can buy em online for like 10% off if u get em like more than 5 days in advance or something
 
and u get a free lift ticket with it. so really u need to go like 3 time for ur moneys worth.... if u use the ticket at a time where the price is full
 
They updated it, now they are saying that they will open as soon as possible net week. I would think that if they really really tried they would be able to open by sunday, but i'm not sure how likely they are to go for it.
 
nawww.... loon isnt that chill haha... i wish they would but probably not.... im hoping i can go on wed. then id be there on fri and sun too
 
The parks not gonna be open that soon but this is Loons twitter update:

"Snowmaking continues: summit down to East Basin. Stay tuned for opening updates!"

 
loon always has a few rails open on opening day so count on that.

and hopefully i can go tues! then wed fri sat sun =)

Actually, thats just where they are making snow right now. I'm pretty sure when they do open it will be top to bottom, and the Gondola will be the primary lift.
 
that would be nice... but i bet they hav a trail going down there then bear claw will probs be open... its always open haha.
 
Opening day last year they definitely had solid coverage over a pretty wide area. Bear claw and Brookway were both open, and you could get down to them from the gondola via picked rock and flying fox i think. It was impressive.
 
Last years opening day kinda sucked. They claimed they had 6 or 10 trails open but it was pretty much just brookway which was a clusterfuck with all of the gapers. They also did not have any park set up. I wonder if they will have early season rates this year? not really worth it unless you have a pass.
 
They had a park, it was at the entrance of LMP, just a flat box and a flat bar. Unless my memory doesn't work right now, which is possible.
 
hmm i think your right, i was prally thinking of opening day two years ago, my memory has gone to shit after 4 years of college
 
yea... then for the next day they had the down rail down pipe and soem c cup box near the hotel at teh bottom. and last year they did have like 6 trails open. it was a really good opening day
 
Loon is officially opening tuesday. Was up there today and they were making a ton of snow! Get pumped dudes!
 
yep. a comp at night and they should have like 5-6 rails up. plus like 5-8 trails i would think. if its supposed to stay cold like they say
