Hike and Huck...may 8th, loon...yup

i went last year, but it was only boarders, this year the comp is open to both skiers and boarders

they let us hit it last year and it was mad fun, so i'd advise anyone who can to go

last year there was one jump and one box, the jump was like a 35 footer, decent, then after was like a couple foot step up to like a 20 ft box then a couple foot drop off the box

it wasn't bad though mad fuuun

the set up....hmmm...

one table, two jumps, the jump on the left was like 15-20ish, you could only hit this jump for qualifying for finals, then on the right was like a 30ish footer, which was only for finals, and next to this table was the trap box set up shittly...

the results are as follows:

Big Air:

1-Colby West

2-Dan Kiesel

i was there, the small jump was 25, and the big jump was 40, then there was the trap box. Ya it sucked that they didnt give out more prises but after the comp they game me a free deck at the mini pipe

the thing i thought was the gayest was that the snowboarders could hit the jump during the skiing qualifying, but skiers couldn't hit the jump during the snowboarding qualifying

yeah, definately. it also seemed like half the snowboarders weren't given the skiers credit, tellin' half of the skiers that their shit wasn't strait for not hittin it switch...

the best was when the announcer guy was talkin about the 'switch to switch 7s' and how he sees them on tv with tanner hall...haha

whatever buds, if you went there expecting a well run comp like in the middle of the season your in the wrong state of mind. it was may, and we were hitting 2 nice jumnps and a sweet box, and they happened to give the ude who was hucking his meat the best some cash..which is cool. so no complaints should be said, and this idea should be pitched to many other resorts, becasue Loon is really cool for doing it.

ps; does anyone have any pictures of it/

 
i wouldn;t have been angry if they wouldn't have given the snowboarders who got 2nd and 3rd a whole box of stuff...

but yea, i also was wondering if anyone had pictures or videos they'd like to share

no complaints, i was really impressed with what loon did, its the MAY and they had two decent jumps set up, and the judging wasnt wack because colby deserved to win. Just enjoy it and take it for what it is good skiing.
