Loon 13/14

Anybody know Loon's policy on inbounds hiking for turns? My knee is still mending, but I have a pass and I'd love to just earn my turns in a controlled environment (Brookway laps switch, maybe?) to get in shape while still getting some skiing out of it. I checked around the site but couldn't find anything.

word. i did see you the other day. the only time i hiked that lil tube sat you and i were kinda co-seshing. ya ever get that 1 on?

double post. but i have many a time hiked up south peak. dont do anything over by the tourist trap area. idk if south peak is open yet but if its not thats perfect. loon is on white mtn national forest land, so your taxes pay for the mtn, you pay for the lifts.

I was just in the Bunyan Room and heard that LMP will most likely open on Wednesday with features and jumps. They just moved all the snow needed for the jump takeoffs into place. It looks like they have to do a little shaping on those and then add in the rails/boxes. Can't wait to check it out this weekend.

Yeah if you are who I think you are you were killing it (lip 2 pretz 2 you fucking dog). But yeah the 1 never ended up happening.

On a side note, being that it is finals week I probably won't make it to Loon until Friday. If any of you guys are down to shred let me know, didn't get to meet as many people as I wanted to last year and would love to get a little Plym./Loon group going.

That was me. But I'll be up a lot this week since I only had 1 final. See you guys out there. Say hey

The new snow yesterday was a blast and LMP is finally being shaped (WHOOOOP!).

I was the crippled goof with the oven mitt over my cast this weekend. Luckily I got it switched to a removable splint today so skiing this week/weekend will be much easier.

see yall out thurrr

Haha thanks man? I was riding solo that day baked off my gourd eating canna butter and beer all day. I'll be up tomorrow on a side note with lady. Heard LMP is looked diesel.

LMP IS UP!! set up so far: fuck load of snow below what they have set up.

left side:

single barrel down rail

creeper

right side:

staggered flat bars (very small lip onto them)

tube (no lip at al)

to a flat down rail. with those loon barrels at the very beginning of the rail so you have to go between them (kinda stupid, but will get used to it and get creative?)

then after that right side 2 jump line (10 footer to 15 footerish) to a quater pipe

or left side dfd shotgun rail to the thin orange down bar with donkey dick

yea it was sick. and LMP is for fact diesel

the jumps are flowy as fuck and i even thought the huge quarter pipe at the bottom was pretty fun. and the rail choices were primo.

the flat down with the barrels is pretty big. didn't end up trying it today. but it will happen.

and they put in my favorite DFD also so that pumped me up

felt good to lace some jump runs today. they are niceee. rail choices are sick, love em all.

but your right. the flat down is wayyyy gnarly. i tried a disaster through the barrels today... tried. speed isnt an issue, but catching your tails is huge. i also tried it as a mega-lip disaster. felt way more comfy as you dont have to worry about the barrels.

that DFD is so fuckin greasy, and the qp breaks g-force

Wow I read all of this and get stoked then hear from my skier friend today that 90% of the rail features are snowboarder oriented. IDK what to think.

Your friend is a pussy

But yes, skier proof. But Thats why I love loon. You have to get super weird just to hit a flat bar haha

heard this also… the 32 training ground lol.. nice if you wanna learn a certain trick on a down rail or something. you get 4 trys on the same run without hiking. but i hope the bottom section has more variety when they get that up

was there this past week. it was fun, but they could've done more. the oakley rail is dopeeeee but overall i wasn't that impressed

Donator's leak (don't tell Bishop):

"We're organizing NS Gatherings at Big Boulder Jack Frost after the SJO, and then at Loon mountain January 18th the day before their head-to-head knockout contest (which I'll be judging with a couple others)."

I won't be there, but I daresay it's useful info.

yeah this should be really cool. I'm not sure how public the info is about it but it's going to be an awesome contest. it's a really cool format which, if it all plays out right, will make for an awesome event for spectators and skiers alike.

Wait. So is loon doing an all skier comp? To bad we all know whose going to win already, no matter how good anyone skis. Fvckin loon and their cock gobbling. Butttt, if ns is judging I might enter. Look out kids

They have a quad kink made for the snowboard comp this weekend, hopefully it's open to the public afterwards. Looks sick.

There are 4 in a line in the bottom of LMP. first is a stepdown 25 ft, second a table 30 ft, and last are are both stepdowns maybe 45 - 50 ft. really fun jumps, going up weds?

Just saw this hahaha you were there too?

Rain sucked... but the snow honestly was pretty nice and the parks were super fun.

Headed up tomorrow, first time since the last two ACL tears. Say hi, I'll probably just be straight airing everything.

Back at loon today. It was sick. Jumps were to fun, rails even more so. Good to shred loon again.

New jumps are so tight! check out this edit from this weekend!

superpipe is up and springboard got changed up a littlethe up flat cannon rail is now a flat rail and the Flat down box is a down box.

and the high cascade is always sick. super fun right now

superpipe more like super ice rink. wish they would swap the down tube with donkey dick for just the down tube. and why do none of the little shredders up there no nothing like the chads gap callout, Wu Tang is for the children, etc...?
