Noticed all the other threads are started up. Thought I'd get this one going. Anyone know if they are gonna add features/move the park so its accessible from the lift this weekend? Probably gonna be there Sunday.
i was up friday and sunday- not bad but it was a bit wind blown and they were blowing snow on alot of trails- made it really hard to see- this week is supposed to be cold enough that they can blow snow every day and night so i think theyll get basin street covered completely, upper walking boss will get opened, and rampasture too- look for them to have at least 20 trails if not more open by next weekend
They need to put in some lift accessible jibs already. I like hitting rails but I like REAL(ish) skiing on REAL(ish) mountains too. it would be nice to be able to do both.
theres really nowhere they could put them right now- like they dont have enough coverage for it- i think by next week if they get more trails open theyll work on getting an actual park setup, but for now theyre just worried about getting and keeping coverage top to bottom
remember when they used to have the park right near the pool at the hotel... that was such a god spot but for some reason they dont do it anymore? which i think is so dumb
but sunday sucked they were blowing snow on the setup the entire day i was covered in snow after a minute and the rails were sticky cuz of it... it sucked.
last year they couldnt do it because they didnt have enough snow- it would be good to set one up there but they are also building little parks on the dropline trail they cut last year- i think itd be good if they set up another park at little sister though
shiiiitttttt well i left way too early. that sucks...
well atleast everyone else had a good day... i complained as i was leaving to management so maybe that did something... did they turn off the guns? cuz that seemed to be the big problem in the AM
i'll be shredding loon all winter! skiing blends with electric sunglasses definitely give me a shout. today was pretty fun they had that bmx jump, flat up flat, flat box, and little tube. i heard they're trying to open the medium (lift accessed) park by saturday. stoked! snow is getting better and better as they continue blowing too. not nearly as icy as it was sunday
I only took one run through springboard and I had enough of it. I wasn't really impressed. the snowboard-run park crew doesnt put jumps up to anything and it makes white boys with no ups like me angry.
whaat man i think it's so sick. makes you such a better skier. one of the best parts about loon is the mass amounts of really good snowboarders and how they set up their features to cater to them.
Um really? did loon have any jumps up this time last season? No all they had was a fucking tube with a donkey dick on it! Loon is killing it this year and the park is always so progressive. Dont just call it a snowboarder park cause thats who works there.
I don't think he meant jumps. I think he meant jumps up to the boxes but idk what he's talking about because there were. I personally thought the park wasn't bad especially for early season but the fact that the triple wasn't running was enough for me to not want to lap the park. The line for the gondola was crazy. Stoked to see what the park set-up will look like by next weekend.
this, the lack of the tripple and fact that it was saturday with loads of motherfuckers on springboard made me rather ski mountain or hike the jib park more.
and dresserski, yeah the park crew is a majority snowboard run. nothing against them as they obviously know what they are doing but you cant even try and deny that they cater to snowboarders > skiers.
i think the park was really fun and the jumps werent that bad. i mean the up box and flat box were practically ride on
the other 2 jumps onto rails werent bad either. they were flat. just smaller than usual i guess
and yes the line was stupid long but it wasnt as bad as i thought. it was like 10ish minutes and i was with like 10 friends so the wait didnt seem long. and it was annoying the triple was not running
and the park crew has a lot of boarders on it. i do agree. and sometimes the features are setup weird but i like it. i get creative and sometimes just doing something creative is just as fun as k fedding a down rail so i kinda like it.
cant wait for this weekend. staying at plym with my buddies in mary lyon 118. then skiing friday sat. and sunday. gunna be a dope weekend!
gondi line wasnt even long it took like 5 minutes at longest and you got a really long lap out of it.
Also spring board was pretty dope even though the rails kinda got sticky towards the end of the day...... hopefully they'll have some dope new setups by this weekend
Went Monday and yesterday, great conditions but the only park setup was like 4 little features at the bottom of the kancamagus lift. First time at loon I had a good time.
Sweeeeet. I'll let you know when I can shred, I'll be up at Loon starting the 26th and hopefully I can shred starting then. Riding them New Lifes and nothing else. Daffys off natty features...
no idea, but Im fairly certain loon will get a solid 5+ inches this weekend with the storm moving in. so that's hopefully gonna help park crew get features up faster on lmp.
i got in during the storm in february- the one week it was actually fun- good snow close to a foot deep so i was pretty happy- the year before it was better than that every weekend- praying for that to happen again
went today. they were blowing snow on springboard and i believe they are doing all of the setup/putting in new features tomorrow during the day so it's done by saturday. and if i had to guess i'd say LMP might be open with features next weekend. they've been hammering it with snow
I agree, if they fashioned a rail or even a box across the top that would be sick. Im looking forward to some other rail features in LMP, round down rails aren't exactly my cup of tea..
