Looking to start filming

I’m looking to start getting into filming and editing more. Currently I’ve been using a gopro and gopro studio which isn’t bad but it’s not great. What would be a good inexpensive camera/lense that would be a good do it all camera. Also what is a good editing software besides gopro studio

If you interested in a DSLR, i'd recommend the Panasonic G7 or GH3 or maybe even GH4 depending on how much you want to spend. Also the Canon Ti series have some good starting DSLRs, thats what I started with. It depends on how much you want to spend...you need to account for spending more on additional lenses, a tripod, and maybe a stabilizer on how serious you around about it. There's a million threads in media and arts with better explanations, i'd use the searchbar or scroll through threads to get a better idea.

thats if your looking for DSLRs which is definitely different than the dad cam look thats super popular these days

This isn't a bad rig for the money, takes a few pieces of equipment and stuff but pretty capable and portable. Plus hard to beat for the money if you are just looking for the basics.

I think the GH3 would be a better call than the eos m3 - it has 1080 60/adapts basically any lens - only not so great thing is lack of focus peaking. They're around the same price too

The Canon sl2 is a great cheap dslr. It doesn't shoot 4k, but its the lightest dslr, and it shoots slow motion at 1080p. Canon lenses are easier to find than Panasonic lenses. Just whatever you do, don't buy a Nikon for video.
