Looking to purchase a "dad cam"

Hi

I'm looking to buy a camcorder with a decent zoom that will give me decent quality but not excellent, one of the so cold "dad cams". Should I be looking at a certain brand/model or is this something I'd literally be purchasing an old camera?

Price range would be like $0-150. Apologies in advance if this is an idiotic question; I don't know much about these.

Honestly, you could probably get a Canon 40D for around that price range.

In terms of an actual camcorder you could get a flip cam for next to nothing.

you can find shitty camcorders at goodwill. or get a real camera and put out heaters. your choice.

shop around and maybe can get some extra gear thrown in like a spare battery or so

I have a 40D sitting on my desk I used back a while ago. Still good camera body I just never use it with my new gear. How much does one of those go for. I'll sell it. Like $100?

I've seen pawnshops in michigan let them go for around 300 with the stock lens on it or a little beat up nifty 50.
