so im lookin around but id like to hear about some cameras that people are like for skiing pretty much follow shots and everything so looking for good stabilizer and picture\
do you want a camera to just press record and get good picture or do you actually want to get into videography and learn all the settings and stuff? if you just want good quality with no manual controls have a HV30 and if you want something with lots of manual controls get the dvx. a used or refurbished dvx will probably be around your price range

The hv series are tape cameras and the hfs series are all flash based. If you are considering going with an hfs series camera then make sure your editing program and computer can handle avchd.
My friend has an hfs100 so i can tell you a bit about it.Nice camera big threads (58mm) so you can put a really good lens on it. The Low Light is pretty good but the problem is the AVCHD which you need a beast of a computer. He had to buy a brand new PC with a quad core processor so make sure you have a good computer.
Personally I used the hfs100 and the hv30 and I like the hv30 more. For me though i don't have a great computer so the hv30 was right for me. If anything I would just go hv30 and get a mic and a nice lens.
