any input would be sick. a nissan xterra or subaru outback?

need it for the ski season, obviously ha.

thanks.

exterra all the way. I have one and that shit rallys the snow. and for a Claim. last month i got farthest mark on the way to mt sacajawa in MT, beat out people with chains even.

i was looking at a legacy outback with 87k miles for 7500... yr 1999. i like the body more than the newer years. so is this a good deal?

Damn good deal. Suby's run for a while to begin with, and that is low miles for that year. My 99 Legacy has 126xxxK

ok thanks dude.

on the other side, there a nissan exterra for 8000, yr 200 with 117k miles? better deal that the suby?

A suby will tank through snow just as well as an xTerra, but be good on gas.

And you just look sweet in a suby

ya i gotcha thanks dude.

what color do u think is the best out of them all?

i like forrest green the best probs.

get a 4runner....baller shit dude. they do wonders

haha all you got to do is trow some 24's on it and your good! im tellin ya haha but if i had to choose i would go with the exterra.. put a rack on top and you can throw all your buddys inside and it isnt a lesbaru if you catch my drift

well according to Andy.. xTerras are the ultimate chick car.. everytime you pull up next to another xterra there is always a chick driving it so there you go. There is your icebreaker.

Get real and get the subi

subaru. my 97 legacy is getting close to 273,000 still going strong... kinda but getting it there is an accomplishment to say the least.

One thing to note that i dont know has already been mentioned cuz im too lazy to read right now, but Xterra's before 05 were underpowered at like 170 horses, and a lot of people complained about that. Now they have 263 i believe. Got myself an 06 with 23k on it for only 16, which is pretty sweet. Couldnt love it anymore.

Toyota FJ Cruiser!....wait what? Honestly though, I'd go with the Xterra over the Subaru. I can't really attest to the performance of either car but I just like the looks of the Xterra better and the fact that it's bigger. Oh and it has the option for a manual which is awesome. I'm sure the Suby does too but what the hell.

I used to have a 02' Subi WRX and now have an 01' Nissan Pathfinder. Both similar cars to the outback and xterra respectively. Unless you NEED the big back seat in the xterra, go for the outback. Better on gas, more reliable, arguably the same amount of space for stuff (with the exception of the back seat), and fantastic AWD. I love Subis, and will probably get another one in the future.

Why, do you ask, did I sell the WRX and go for the Pathfinder then? The WRX I had was lowered and had an STi suspension. Maybe I'm an old man, but it was getting to be too stiff for me. Also, very small backseat (way smaller than the outback) and I could take clients around in it. Plus I got a screaming deal on the Pathfinder and the change between the two cars put an extra $10k in my pocket.

A year or two from now I'll likely get an 06' or 07' legacy 2.5GT wagon or outback 2.5XT. Or possibly an 05' allroad if I feel like pissing money away on repairs. lol.

i have a subaru legacy, best car ever. runs so well and handles snow/ice/mud/rain so well.

plus it was cheap. you can find tons of good deals on subaru's

my neighbor has a black one with flat black rims. he just goes down to the beach and comes back with scantly clad women every Friday and Saturday.

but really id get the outback, but some custom rims and tires and get new sway bars and the thing drives like an sti. and my friend had an xterra, it was cool but had alot of electrical problems. and its 4x4 had some issues too.
