Looking for Stiff Park Skis

I want a park ski that's nice and stiff. Waist no wider than 80mm, size around 174-180cm, just gotta be light and stiff.

I'm 6'2 190lbs and my 1260s are giving out on me on the landings so I need something that can take the abuse.

179 PEs sounds about right. they're a little heavy, but not enough to make that big of a difference

get some 170 msps. you wont notice 4 cms difference. and you know you want it even though its a 87 waist. its the best ski ever. so buy mine

PEs are a bit too beefy, I already have ARV's for Pow, I want something with the shape of my 1260s, but longer and stiffer. I was thinking about the Chronics but I dunno how stiff they are.

what about those new volks, karmas i think. volkl ususally has some pretty stiff skis

wow good observation! You are officaily the new ns genious. You can pick up your award after I shove it up your ass. - Phrosty

I think the Troublemakers are stiff. You just can't ride them on rails though, or else the edges blow out.

-Pat

I'll take a look at the Volkl Karmas... only problem with those is that I wouldn't be able to demo any in town.

i rode the skogen sprang pro models (the green ones with the bombs) and i liked those a lot. they are the right length for you, and stiffer than the 1260s.

publicenemy270: matty i love you

after i ride my new tweaks, i'll tell you if they're stiff or not. the waist is 78

the scratch fs is pretty stiff, and the waist is 80.

I want something that's super stable for a 190lb person. I rode my ARVs in the park today, they were so solid on the landings but I couldn't pop worth a shit and due the the far-back mounting position they're really awkward.

i am like the same as you..6'1' and 190 i was thinking of getting the pe's like a 179 i hear they are an awesome ski and k2 has a da,m good warranty policy

Mad_Trix are heavy. But I love them when they don't kick my ass. Poppy off the lip and stable in all kinds of crappy ontario/quebec snow. You can get them in 190cm too. woo. But demo them first anyway.

so why wouldn't you get some ar5? they have sick pop, not too wide, and are pretty stiff :)

'can you read what that says?'

'donna simma?'

'yes, that's right. now how would that appear in a phone book?'

'simma, donna?'

'that's right now Simma down na!

AR5s aren't stiff at all... they manual like a beast. MTs are the stiff ski for all occasions, they're a bit heavy, but if you weigh 190lbs, you can handle it.

I have a pair of 180 cm Candides with P12s in nice condition that I am trying to sell (never seen a rail, bases and edges in fabulous condition, some stress cracks in top sheet that are just cosmetic). Message me if you are interested. Awesome ski, I just have shorter mad trix and little big fats now.

Volkl v pros.

Actually the person that mentioned the Darksides is right, I've been looking for a that ski forever, one of my favs of all time. And because the tips are so high the 182cm would really be just like... 178cm or so of running surfaceness.

arent the darksides a non twin now? a 179 PE or the 180 v-pro sounds perfect for you...6'2 179 pe wouldnt sound too beefy..

i ride madtrix and there quite stiff with a 74mm waist, they destroy pipe aswell, you should go for the 181 or 190 madtrix

4FRNT's are light as hell because of their P-Tex sidewalls, and have a solid stiffness from the full maple-wood core, with a carbon-fiber stringer in the tail for pop!

Not to mention they're more durable than any ski out there!

meathead i know you're wrong about the carbon fiber stringer but you're right about the durability

Atomic Tweaks, I've yet to hear one bad review about how well they perform outside of the park. My Mike Nicks seem pretty stiff, they're pretty good for all-mtn.

FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO SKANK!

Emo kids don't cry because they're sad all the time, they cry because they have to listen to that horrible music all the time. I'd cry if i had to listen to that whiny music over and over and over....wouldn't you?

(I'm in a band, go to purevolume.com and check out East Coast Skank. Our recording sucks, but bear with it...)

chalk uo another vote for the MadTrix...very stiff, but so awsome

i was using 1260's before i got on these and i love these way better. much more stable outside the park and nice and stiff to help with landings. Pop is not an issue either, i dont notice much of a difference with the MT.

Armada AR5s. Best ski Ive ever ridden, in the park or out. Stiff, solid, amazing pop, good durability, and great in the pipe. Best ski for landing and taking off switch I've ever used too, even better than Lines.

Someone said that Scratch FS??? I think they are soft as gum, good for park but don´t buy it if you are looking for samething stiff
