Anyone with advice on a variety of schools would be REALLY appreciated. don't need to get to specific; just your general opinion of the place. I may PM to get more info

the schools I'm contemplating:

for a degree:

York

Ryerson

Humber

for a diploma, 1-2 year preferred

VFS

Sheridan

Seneca

and to clear up any questions that might arise... I would like to get a degree as well as a 1-2 year diploma or advanced diploma as well. I live in Mississauga and don't want to live in Quebec (cancelling out concordia, etc.) Didn't apply to UBC for film; didn't hear the best things about it.

any advice is hugely appreciated and worth +K

threads, I'm also interested in post-secondary film schools in Canada. I've had a private tour of VFS and it looks to be a great program, but the fact you don't come out of it with a degree isn't great.

I've heard good things about the film program here at UBC, pretty competitive from what I understand though (I'm going to UBC though, so I'm a little biased).

I have a friend who was considering SAIT in calgary, seems like they have a program with U of C that's pretty good. There's also a ton of good places in Vancouver, its the "Hollywood of the North", or so I've heard.

yeah, that's a factor for me. I'm considering putting down a 4 year degree then doing a film prod. diploma at VFS or a film school or college in Canada or the states after. Hard decision though
