Looking for a telephoto lens…

so I have a canon xsi and am still somewhat a beginner with it. I have a fisheye and the kit lens for it and was looking to get something with a decent zoom. I'd like to keep it relatively cheap but I'm willing to spend more for a better quality lens. Thanks

Add a bit, and get the 70-200mm f/4L non-is. You won't regret it.

this is what I was going to say. definitely has one of the best lens quality/price ratios on the market. normally $550 used, but i got mine in good condition for $485 a month or so ago.

i got a sigma 70-200 2.8 and i really like it. i was looking at the canon f4 but i really wanted the extra stops.

From what I've heard, purchasing the sigma can be risky... Some are almost as good as the canon, others are crap

ya i heard that too. but for the price it was to good to pass up. no complaints whatsoever so far.
