Looking for a Summer internship/apprenticeship

So i'm a sophomore in high school, and i want to get into the ski industry. So i decided a summer internship/apprenticeship. Even though i'm only 16, and i know many ski companies or ski industry companies look for college students. I feel that i am qualified to be a help in anyway. Even if its a non paying internship/apprenticeship, i just want to learn what happens on a day to day basis in the summer or during the year. I had to apply to another job so i have a resume and cover letter. I know how skis are designed and built, considering i built and i am building my own pair again right now. So if you know anyone who is looking for an intern/apprentice or if u are looking for a cheap one, then i'm here, cause i just want to learn more. Leave a comment if you have had a internship/apprenticeship with a company in the ski industry and what it was like, or any tips. I know that since i'm younger i have less of a chance, but i don't care its worth trying. Also if your looking for an intern to work for you pm me and let me know. Or if you are a company and do internships if you can pm me and give me tips for the future if you are not gonna hire me. thanks guys and lets hear it.

at your age and level of experience, the only way I see you getting a position is through family/family friend.

yeah, thats the problem though is no one in my family is involved in it. and even if i dont get one at least i will get some knowledge that will hopefully help me get one in the future.

One of the coolest skis is PM Gear's BRO. And the owner posts! His name is splat on TGR. On3p is also on TGR. Go make a account on TGR and send them a private message and they will totally hook you up! Well if you are cool they will. Their are so many industry people on TGR, just make a good name for yourself there and you will be hooked up.

Just how you are a cool mature person and arent a whiny little kid and you will succede!

so i asked splat, and he said that you have to be 18, and there already a lot of people trying to get it so its super hard... thats all he said and he didn't give me any advice. so does anyone else have some advice?

My advice? Don't try to get into the "ski industry". I've heard its not very fulfilling. I'm sure there are plenty of people on this site who can vouch for that ...

What you need to to is put yourself in a position that would allow you to work indirectly with the ski industry, such as marketing at a resort or engineering for companies who build chairlifts. I don't know - get creative. But there are far too many people who want to be "in the ski industry".

ive heard that its not very fullfilling in some aspects. However if i am able to work in design or building of the skis then it would be for me. and thats another thing i was thinking, which is working with the companies that help in the ski industry. and i know that there are a lot of people trying to get in the industry, but it wont really make me not want to. and because of my age i have time to change which is good. Also i have been semi-creative on the ways im trying to get into the industry, i have a list of around 50 companies (some ski companies others that are involved with them) and i am probbly gonna send out a letter and resume to them asking them for help finding an internship. but otherwise thanks for the help im gonna look into the engineering for companies who build chair lifts
