Looking for a softer ski for a lighter rider..

- I ride 04/05 177 chronics right now (white/black) and before those I rode the 06/07 chronics in 177.

- I am 5'10" and weigh roughly 140-150, so I'm thinking I want something that is a little softer and probably in the lower to mid - 170 length.

- When I flexed the newer chronics they felt a little softer than mine, so I'm wondering if both of the 85 waist chronics from this year and last year are softer, and also if not, what would be an all mountain soft ski for me? (I SKI MINIMAL PARK, PROBABLY 15% OF MY RIDING) thanks guys!

Hmmm, ARV's keep changing their flex every year it seems, not sure if they're noodly or stiffer this season, but they used to be really soft. People loved how they could ride the whole mountain as well.
Lizzies are really soft too, and probably about right for your height. They're pretty fat for their length, but everyone loves how they ride everywhere.
Those 2 pop up first in my mind... Keep in mind I haven't ridden either, I've just noticed many reviews and opinions, and scrutinized them in shops.

if you really like playing, jibing, and switch, even if you dont have a park, maybe consider anthems. depends on if you think semetry is useless for what you are doing. lizzies may be a little fat since your not used to fatties. my most high recommendation, as said in the qouute, is the arv. and because, as stated, they are a different flex almost every year, find the year with the flex that sounds good.
hope this helped

The 07/08 and 08/09 Chronics right slightly softer than the years you mentioned, and that's due to Line moving to a side-wall construction. The actual flex of the ski is just a hair softer, but the real difference that I've felt is that they don't feel as nervous on ice or firm conditions like the older Chronics.

From the sounds of your description, it doesn't sound like you want too soft of a ski, but rather something that will be a good all mountain ski that you can still feel comfortable in the park with. I would highly recommend the Chronics, and also recommend other skis like the Salomon Suspect, Rossignol S4 Squindo, and the Armada ARV and AR6 as other options.

Hope this helps.
