Hey all, I am currently on the market for a new backcountry ski! I want it pretty playful so I can jib around resort but then can still use it for several day hut trips (probably will pair them with casts). I have already got revolt 114s so basically want something to fill the gaps :) what are your thoughts?

How wide are you looking for? I’ve got the carbon rmu apostle 96 and they almost feel like park skis, super playful and easy to ski

Looking around the 100- 108 range…

You should check out the 4frnt raven! That’s my daily touring ski and it’s so much fun. It’s really surfy, stable at speed, handles all sorts of conditions very well, not heavy but has enough mass on it to charge and get chattery. Highly highly recommend

how concerned are you with weight? Line Visions leaning towards the touring side, Surface Uppers leaning towards the resort side

I wondered about them! Though read that they’re a pretty hard ski and not very playful?

Not crazy concerned for weight, but concerned on line skis cos they seem so fragile? Literally everyone I know including myself have had line skis and they’ve not last a whole season

Guess it depends on what you mean by playful?? I think they’re playful bc the reverse camber gives them the ability to slarve and slash, but they also can lock into long radius turns. They also have good pop to them and feel solid on landings
