So me and 4 of my friends are looking for a place to stay in Summit County from december 16th to january 10th, or something along those lines. We've been looking for places online.

Besides craigslist, do you guys have any suggestions for good websites?

There's been one good offer but the guy was asking we pay the deposit and the rental online because he had a lot of offers, so we refused since we didn't want to be fraud, and he wasn't very open to negotiate.

So what would you suggest? Is it hard to find a place to stay during those dates? Thanks

Summit County is a complete zoo during the dates you listed. Whether it be families who are spending the whole break up there or people who visit for a few days, it is very busy. I imagine the vast majority of lodging is booked by now, especially lodging for groups of 4+ people.

Sorry this post is a bummer, but you should know that you might need to pay more than you initially thought at this point to find decent lodging.

Can you change your dates around a little bit? Everybody is going to rent out an extremely overpriced place during those times. The hotel I work at is renting a studio out for $200 a night right now, and for a night during Christmas break its $2000 a night..............If you cant change your dates I would recommend looking into staying in Silverthorne.

Good call - there has been numerous people doing this in Summit this season which is sad. I though I had a seasonal rental locked down until I was asked to pay the security deposit online. I did a little more digging and found that the rental was a scam and the pictures were stolen from a reality site. Stay on your toes kids.
