Looking for a new wider ski

Hi,

I'm looking for a new ski and I'm looking for some advice from you guys. What i'm looking for is a pair of skis that handles well on piste (i'm still 40-50% of my time on piste) but I'm more and more going off piste and on steeper, more difficult terrain(see picture) so I was thinking about a a wider ski that excels in chopped, variable conditions. I'm also a pretty playful playful skier that likes to jump of little drops, do 360's/180's of little jumps and do some park from time to time. I only ski 2 weeks a year so I don't have the luxury to pick my skiing days depending on the weather. I'm also a very lightweight skier, being 5'11 and weighing 135 lbs.

Right now I'm skiing the Volkl Kink 16's at 171 (who are 89mm width) and although I love them on piste and in the air, I find them a little to narrow/ difficult off piste.

I have been looking at the Faction CT 2.0's, the Armada ARV 106 and the Atomic Automic 109 2016.

What do you guys think would be a good ski for me?

Thanks in advance!

You sound like a playful skiier like me too I can say 180 Jskis the metal or even a Kartel 108. I would consider myself really playful skiier going of drops and popping over every mound of snow I see but when I want to charge their great. You mentioned and ARV 106 and CT 2.0s. While the ARVs are gonna fun on low angle play laps they will have nice pop and a soft flex but you definetly wont be able to charge or have confidence In steeps If im being honest but correct me if Im wrong only ridden them once. Now the CT 2.0s are a complete different story. Maybe you'll have fun taking the chair lift up but thats about it. The durability is so god awful garbage absolutely do not buy those. Take a look at the ON3P Kartel or J skis the metal

Get like 100-107 waist ski, if you still wanna carve get somewhere in there. And you can still charge a soft ski but it's scary haha

next years vantage 97 ti is a dope ski, not a twin but would do everything you want and rips on trail

oh and the new mantra is so nice charges, holds on groomers well, and skis through chop without being too wide

See thats what I thought, then I skied them... I work at a shop and trust me midwaisted carving skis are the definition of dad skis (70-90) underfoot, these skis rip trust me just because its directional does not make it a dad ski

The Bent Chetler 100 coming next season will be the non dad, fun all mountain playful charger from Atomic. Good on piste and fun off from early reviews.

The J Skis Metal is a great ski and the Armada ARV 106 will be stiffer, beefier next year so it would more stable than the current model. They also have the ARV 106 Ti LTD which adds metal to the 106 for more of a charger and it’s available now.

Blizzard Rustler 10 and Nordica Enforcer 110 are both skis that can still carve but are fun and playful. The ON3P Kartel 108 and the Moment PB&J are also amazing all mountain freestyle skis that have great build quality.

Lots of great skis in that 100-110 range that would suit you well.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! So far I’m very interested in the J skis Metal and the Volkl mantra (partly because i’m already skiing on volkls)

Any other suggestions?
