Looking for a new camcorder

I'm looking for a good quality camcorder. I was wondering if anyone had any comments on a canon gl2, sony vx2000 or any camera in that price range with good quality. Thanks
 
those are both good SD cameras that would be a good first camera to learn the basics on. These are good to learn about cameras and filmingif you are looking for HD, check out the hv30 like the rest of newschoolers. But, the others will be better to learn on
 
sorry, i read the sony vx as DVX, which is like the gl2, and good to learn on, i don't know much about sony
 
if you are buying a gl2 for 1500 you are spending too much. id look at dvx if you want SD
 
Hv 30 like i said is a badass cam for the price. plus you could get a gopro and some lenses for the 30 for 1500! The only that sukkkkks about the 30 is the focausing ring. or lack there of. sukkks but at least theres something.
 
Thanks. I have a gopro and i love it im just looking for another camera for other shots that i can use to zoom and things like that. How about the jvc gz-hd7 its hdd is that any good?
 
Check out the DVC30, It has some of the highest quality SD footage out there, is absolutely bombproof, a perfect focusing ring that is super smooth, and scene files.
