Looking for a memory card

Just bought a Canon t3i, and now I need a memory card.I know there are plenty of informations on internet about SDHC and SDXC cards, but I want your opinion.

I know I need a class 10 memory card for video otherwise the recording will stop.

What I want to know is which brand you recommend me?

And is the speed for example 200x our 400x or 600x is important?

There are tons of threads on this...

Regardless brands like Sandisk, Lexar, PNY, etc... are safe bets.

Buy the models that say: "EXTREME" "PRO" "ELITE" "1000X" "POWER" DIGITAL RAPE"
 
Sandisk Ultra's are fine on the T3i. The Extremes are a little better.

I only use Extremes or better with my D600
 
Depending on how fast the write speed is, you can transfer pics/video to your computer faster and do continuous shooting longer (as long as you don't fill up your buffer, which is separate from your card). on a t3i a sandisk ultra will work great, but in the future if you upgrade, or if you end up shooting insane amounts of hd video then you might want something faster for when you upload to your computer.
