Looking for a good Wide Angle Lens for Canon 60d

Just as the title states, I'm in the marker for a good Wide Angle lens for my canon 60d. Needs to be really fast, and preferably under $1k. I don't know much about these lenses but realize that my kit lens is not really good for ski photography and video at all. Was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction!

Most everyone will tell you the tokina 11-16mm f2.8. I love mine, it's a fantastic lens and it's only like $600...

how wide? and when you say really fast are you talking 1.4?

I highly recommend this lens, i love mine. really sharp and wide, it is great for skiing and is prime on a stabilizer. And like this guy said it is only about $600 now, so you would have cash left over.

If you have $1000 and you dont have a glidecam i recommend taking $600 and buy an 11-16 and then take the $400 and buy a Glidecam HD2000 (you can probably find one for anywhere between $400 and $500)

mobile. no lens under 24mm is under 2.8. if he had a 5d sure a 24 1.4 is an option but with a crop, tokina 11-16 is the best you can get
