Looking for a gl2 or something of the kind(any brand)

don't purchase a gl2 just from personal experience head always gets dirty and firewire always ends up breaking not a camera with a lot of stamina from what i've seen

you can score a GL1 for about 900 bucks used, from what I hear the gl2 isn't that huge of a step up from the GL1

yeah, heff is right, a few of my friends have gl's and all the heads are fucked. i would try to get a dvc30 or something similar.

ill sell my gl2 in really good condition for 1000. it has a fish eye, 5 hour battery, 1 hour battery, and a wide angle lense. With both lenses ill sell it for 1100.

sony sony sony sony sony alllll day

search vx2100 or vx2000 possibly for 1000 although usually the 21k are about 2G's

i got an HV20 and UV lens for 700 shipped. its sweet, HD, and all around baller. check out HV20.com if you wanna read up on it. if you wanna see footage, check my video's- is the most recent (its sized down considerably so i could upload it to NS though).

dont get it if you are need to adjust alot of stuff manually though.

that is a dope deal.

either that or look for a panasonic dvc30, or a vx2000 something like that. or you could go for trv900 or hv20 which are still pretty baller cameras quality wise

eh, i'd have to dissagree. For doing lots of manual controll sorts of stuff, yea it sucks. there are ways to get around some of it though, but its still not as functional as some higher end cameras. If your looking for a good camera for general filming (basically anything that you dont have to do lots of artsy stuff) then its sweet. it has good resolution, good quality, good colors, its decent in low light (not great), shoots 60i and 24p, which after you remove pulldown, is pretty dope (not so much for skiing, but when its used right it is great)

and you can find it for around 650 from an authorized cannon dealer (h1photo.com), leaving the OP extra cash for lenses, tripod, or whatever else he may want
