Hey all,

I'm looking around for a good pack I can ski with this year. I've been looking at Dakine Heli Pro's and Heli Pro II's (pretty much the same). I've seen the poacher, and I dont want something that large, I just need like a day pack size one that hopefully has a camel-back thingy and a place to carry some skis and a small amount of gear. Anyone have any suggestions? Some good sites I might not have seen? Selling yours?

i have a camelback sno bound and i love it

it can carry your skis

it has hydration

it has storage space

Yeah, but it has less space and is more expensive than the Dakine Heli Pro's I have found, $80 compared to $60. Whats its best feature?

well i got mine for 50$ and it just fits really nice and it can easily hold a sweatshirt and lunch and a full resovoir. it also has plastic in the back with actually work as a slight back protector. the bladder is very insulated and im just very happy with it. o and you can put ur skis in two different carrying possitions, an A frame, or diagnoal

I have a BCA stash pack I really like. Has a well insulated bladder and hose, diagonal carry for your skis and just enough place that I can fit in treckers, skins, probe and shovel and maybe some munchies. Best pack for sidecountry imo.

I would stay away frm the Heli-pro. it is a good a pack but if you want to carry any skis with a +100mm ski it is out of the question. I can barely get my seths on it with a full pack. But for a good pack I might look into some of the Black Diamond and North Face Packs packs. They cost more but are good. The BD Frenzy (1709 cu in.) and North Face Shuttle (1850 cu in.) are very good packs. For a bigger pack (2850 cu in.) Is the BCA Access. hope this helps you.

^ probably i didnt read his whole post so i didnt know what he was looking for. but the grenade looks sick for school and just in the lodge

Yeah, I am going to be hiking with Maden's strapped to it, so I really want them to be able to fit it. Heli Pro's cant? Hmmmm, any more ideas guys?

If you have nothing in the pack you might be able to carry madens on it but if the pack is full it is out of he qustion. I can barly get my seths on with the pack half full. But that is for the conventional way of carying them with the diagonal carry if you cary them like a snowboard you might beable to pull it off but it would be kind of wierd. If I get a new pack I will sell you mine though. If any one has the BD Frenzy 28 I would like to buy it off them.

Well crap then... what was that Dakine pack that Pollard used to carry his skisin a big 'X' a few years ago?

This pack is pretty sweet it's not as huge as it looks in the pic, usually the top cover thing is about touching the orange thing on the front. It can hold a ton of shit, but can also compress down to as small as any other backpack, and it has nice big comfy, weight-dispursing straps and hip belt and good insulation. Since it's a little bigger it holds skis SO much better and more solid than a smaller one. for half off right now I'd check it out.

On the dakine site, the diagonal carry they put in their picture is something where the skis are put together and strapped onto the back diagonally, not a X like Pollard was doing. Anyone know? I really want something light and small that can carry my Maden's around...
