Lookin for North east backcountry

Ok, so I've skieed tuckermans a few times and loved it, but am gettin a little bored with it. I was wonderin if anyone new of some different areas anywhere in the northeast. I did some research on google and all i came up with was this place called Phillips Brook in NH, anyone heard of it. It didnt tell me what the terrain was like or anything so some inof on that would be chill too. thanks for all your help.

nah, it sucks for skiing. plus it's a long ass hike in.

unfortunately, the best BC in the NE is not NE but W.

just hit up the sidecountry at your hill

you really just gotta go look and find stuff. like i live in central MA but theres some good lines and other fun stuff you can do on some ocnservation land and trails, just take those trails up and use your imagination. but its kinda hard to scope it out if your not from the area.

yea just hike up a hill when theres a lot of snow, u should have a pack that can carry skis and maybe snowshoes, or skin up

hmmmm well this is what we did today at smuggs, if you took the rightside of morse all the way down theres about a tree every 20-30 feet once you clear the upper alpine zone. Best skiing i've ever done. powder was up to the waist. thing is we didn't know it emptied onto a trail so we had to bank left hard. Follow our footsteps at your own discression, if you get lost in the woods or have to hike 5 miles I'm not responsible for you. There are also a few snow shoeing trails you can follow back to the resort so getting lost isn't that easy.

Big Jay, the Chin at Stowe, Chic Chocs in Quebec, the Blow Me Downs, Tablelands, and Gross Morne(sp?) National Park all in Newfoundland, watch a Meathead films movie and you'll see some stuff from all of the above

i never thought of that, i thought the only thing there was the notch. ill have to check that out next time i go there

the back side of sundayriver has got some pretty sick skiing ive always wanted to hike over the back of OZ and ski that mountain that comes jets out. U can see it from the top of Locke on a clear day

Fuck trying to make backcountry turns in the east. unless your missioners like the meatheads. if your looking for good spot to build bc booters. Go to a gravel and sand pit after huge dumps. They have a nice steep pitch. They are so fun to make such sick step downs jumps.

have they been open at all this year?, if im planning on going up to whiteface soon ill give u a pm if ya wana ride

theres only one place for the sickest backcountry in the east. new hampshire and tuckermans ravine.

it rivals some of the toughest terrain out west.

worth the trip for sure although ive never skied it outside of the summer months so I cant say what its like in the winter or if its even accessible.

are they ever open? i was there last year like february 20th which is probably just a bit before prime winter and the slides were closed.....we talked to a patrol woman there and she said they were only open for a couple weeks in the past like 2 years

The last time i skiied tuckermans was last year in like end of Februaray. ity was really nice. the other day after i posted this thread i went out to my dads (upstate NY) and did some messed around in the woods on some hills and built some kickers. it was pretty fun.
