Ok, whats the difference between Look px12's and p12's? They say how the px doesnt have pivot and the p12 does. Does it really matter? which one is lighter/better? theres only a $10 difference.

thanks

the p12 for sure. i was told by a fellow worker at my shop that they got rid of the pivot cuz it cost too much to make. plus its way bette. p12

why are you choosing demo bindings?

anyway, i prefer the pivot, i have stocked up on a few pairs since they are becoming kind of hard to find in good condition.

I'd shy away from demo bindings personally. But given the choice between those two, I like the pivots better. Super smooth release, and they never prerelease. My only gripe is that they develop slop in the heel after a while, but I have a pair that's still functional after 120+ days, you just gotta stomp a little to get in.

well there like $90 and besides if i happen to grow a boot size, i wont have to remount plus shouldnt they be more durable?

The PX has more elastic travel, but i think the Pivot Heel v. Fixed Heel far outweighs that.

ya but if someone decides they like your skis all they have to do is move the binding on the track and ski away.

with those bindings you should be fine if you grow a boot size. demos are just extra unnecessary weight unless you get the convenience of frequently adjusting them

fuck, i dont think i will be getting them anymore. There such a good price but everyone is saying how demos are bad n shit so i guess not. :(

im not sure if both are like this but i know my pivots have a lot of room to be adjusted for a bigger boot. i would for sure get the regular ones instead of the demos even if you are worried about your feet getting bigger

Personally I don't know why every hates demos so much...I had P12 demos on my Mike Nick 178s and they functioned just as well as all the other pivots I've owned, they add a miniscule amount of weight (because it isn't much, and it's directly underfoot, not swing weight) because of the extra track, but they are still a solid pivot binding, I'd say go for it, especially at that price. If I didn't already have way too many sets of clamps I'd be tempted.

I just started riding park last season and I am progressing at a fair

pace. (Kinda hard working in NYC 2 hrs from the closest mt.) and I put demo

p12s on my park ski and have no issues with them. Now I don't do

anything crazy hard in the park or need to make sure anything is bomb

proof (again still learning) so thats why I didn't mind putting on demo

bindings. In comparison I ski totally differently out of the park and I'm a

lot more comfortable hitting natural drops and runnings through trees, so thats

the reason why I spent the extra money to have the gear I needed.

So the question

is what are you going to be using this ski for, how hard do you ski,

and do you think the minimal added weight will affect your performance

(ex. the less weight will help to get a bit more air to finish out

that corkscrew 720)?

Anyone know if on the rossignol power series with the plate, if the plate can be removed andI could still use the binding?

Power was in the 'pivot-by-any-other-name' series...power, axial, scratch, etc. All the same binding in reality.

And yes, they can be mounted sans plate, as long as one of these two requirements is satisfied:

1) You locate the shorter mounting hardware.
2) You have your shop grind down the screws that they come with so they are the proper length.

Sweet, Theres a kid I know selling that power 120 model with the stupid plate on it for pretty cheap. So I could get those and take the stupid plate off and get the right size screws (by the way, are they some special kind of screws? Or could I get some of the same size and thread pattern as the smaller normal ones and they would be the same? If so, Does anybody know what size?) and get them mounted as normal p12s?
