LOOK Pivot 14

I am 5'8 150ish and Intermediate- advanced skier. I would use them mainly for park (I have only just finished my first year). I have been riding with a din of 8. Should I break my bank account and buy some the pivot 14's or are they overkill? Would the look pivot 10's be a better option even though I am looking to holding onto these skis for a while?

Looks like you won't notice any difference... I'd get whatever I find cheaper between Marker Griffon, Salomon STH2 13 or Pivot/FKS 14

I do prefer the STH, I'm just comfortable using these bindings, griffon are usually more difficult to click into in deep snow and the Pivot/FKS might require adjustments in the forward pressure with time!

In the end STH2 are still cheaper!

^backcountry has sth2 13s for $160. kind of a no brainer i think.

If you know you're never going to ski above 8, the 10s would be alright, but if you think you might go higher eventually (even if only 9) then I would definitely get the 14s. If you ski with a binding at or near the top of its DIN range, it won't be as accurate. It's best to get a binding with your setting around the middle.

That said, there might also be other differences between the two. Sometimes a higher DIN version of the same binding will also have a stronger construction (ie more metal) so look into if there are any differences besides the DIN range.
