Look P14 Maxplate

Well, i need new bindings and the place i was going to get some Look P12s ran out of them, and all they have left for cheap is the Look P14 Maxplate. Is the P14 Maxplate the same as the P14, but with a plate? so, could i remove the plate and they'd be like P14s? I don't really want the plate, so i just wanna know if you can remove the plate and they'd be fine... any help would be great!

can you do it with any binding with a plate, just take off the plate and have 2 different pieces?

am i retarded by getting cheap axial 100's for my scratches? i only go up to 5.5 max on my bindings

yeah plates suck, they are soo heavy and they dont do much

Plus, i'm they're for my Public enemies and of course i gotta be able to see the graphics, haha. it's mainly for weight issues, and there's really no point to them.

i just go those put on my skis as replacements, the shop said the only difference is looks and the wieght added by the plate. i'd say get another lighter binding. Also seeing as i broke my new maxplate's 3rd ski day on them.
