look bindings

ok so just to get this cleared up before i grab some look's before they go to the new design/technology...

the p12 ti lifter and the p12 jib ARE the same exact binding just with different graphics and the removable lifter?

the p12 ti lifter's are like red/white/blue correct? and they are the same exact thing as the jibs that have the troublemaker logo?

the p12 lifters are all silver. they are EXACTLY the same as the jibs if you dont mount the lifter plate. i wanted the jibs, but got a petter deal on the p12 lifters, so i just didnt mount the plates.

^well not exaclt true. The P12 jib has a little rubber piece underneath the heel. But in reality the rubber piece does nothing at all.

go with the binding that:

A)is cheaper

B)matches your ski

really? i asked josh at jibij about that rubber piece and he told me he took the bindings apart and they were IDENTICAL. maybe he missed that part. thats what i thought though is the jibs had a shock absorbind something..

-sean

what do you think you are going to get? i just got the lifters. im gonna paint them black like the jibs though. i dont like the silver. mine were 160 form jibij, but i had to get wide brakes too.

-sean

ill probably end up getting the regular p12's because im gonna mount them on some P.E.'s and i dont want the troublemaker graphic on the jib making it look gay

i might actually paint them too...maybe white or red im not sure

definitely taking the lifter plate off though

unless it helps?

nah it helps to turn fatter skis i guess because it just lifts you up that much higher. but if you ski park they're easy to crack is what i hear. painting them red would look cool. i'm going to pain mine black, but leave the parts that are blue on the jibs silver. i think it will come out cool.

-sean

aight sweet...i think im gonna do that with my poles too, ive got k2 4speeds i might just paint them gold

look like the PE poles

nice. i have scotts that were getting all fucked up and the paint was coming off and looking all silver from knocking snow off my boots i guess so i just painted them.

-sean

yea mine are all scratched up from smacking my poots, plus i tap them like crazy on the chairlift when i get bored, it drives people nuts

Your original question was about the P12 'ti' lifter which is not the same as the reular P12 Lifter or P12 Jib. The Ti is like 4 oz lighter and $50 more or so.

ohhhh yea i didnt even realize that...good call

so with 'ti' is it the same issue...same binding just lighter and no trouble maker graphic?

^yea i missed that. The TIs have some parts made partly out of titanium, which makes em a little bit lighter. I don't really think it's worth the money. If you want to go lighter, spend the cash on a Rossi FKS 120 instead (it's the race stock binding).

did anyone notice that the TIs feel heavier than normal p12 bindings?? i was at a shop and help the p12s in one hand and the TI in one hand and hte TIs felt heavier..thats kinda fucked up

4 oz under each foot is NOT going to make any bit of a difference.

Get the cheapest of the three and be happy.

The lifters make no difference when riding, get whats cheaper.

p18s are the shit, all metal so theyre superdurable and they do not prerelease when you dont want them to, if you ski hard the p18 is the most heavyduty binding that will work forever, p18s are the shit

^ except that you can't ride a lower DIN setting. The Rossi FKS 120, 155 is where it's at.

Why would you buy P18s to ride a lower din setting?

That's why they're P18s.

Anyone know anything about Look Pro 100 bindings? I might be able to get some cheap off this guy but want to know a bit more about them. The pics i seen look good but I can't find anything on the internet about them.

? i know theres the look p10(non lifter) and the rossi pro 100(also no lifter) granted they are the same i think you have the names mixed

i got p18's for a reason, ive double released numerous times when my bindings were at 15, i ride mad hard, and im also 195 pounds, thats why i got p18's

Yeah I thought as much the dude called them that though, thanks for clearing that up for me.

to the guy that said FKS is lighter than P12 jib. - IS THIS TRUE? I thought the all metal fks/p18/zr bindings were obviously the best but defenitely the heaviest.

hmm the guys at my shop wouldnt mount em w/o the lifters something about how the screws r like preset from the factory for intall or something. o well i got em cheap enough and i dont see 5mm or so makin a huge negative difference.

Lifters won't affect you that much. You'll get used to it anyways.

Probably. They're made for carving, not jumps.

If they do crack, you get new ones for free I guess.
