LOOK bindings

i just got the volkl karmas and LOOK p10's (all for $355 haha-i work at a ski shop) but ne way, does ne one know if they make wider, replacement brakes since the original ones are not wide enuf for the karmas waist?

 
you work at a shop and you didnt know that they make wide breaks for look p10/12/etc ... ?????

This is why you cant always trust what a shop tells you.... :P

well my manager hasn't called LOOK to find out yet since he didnt know either...we actually haven't had thequestion come up before which i found hard to believe...but anyway, get a job at a ski shop-mad cheap gear!

 
yah seriosuy if you work in shope you should know they make them hell look at getbords.com or bcstore.com and you'll know damn

ok, so you're saying that the manager of the largest ski shop in NY has no idea if you can get wide brakes? How did he get his job? how did you get yours? Jesus Christ thank God we have Jibij.

 
they make wide brakes for regualr look and rossi bindings, but they dont for their race stock bindings

i was just wondering how wide a ski is when you realize that you need wide brakes? im about to order some looks and i was wondering if i need them in wide or not, can someone please tell me...i have ar5s, so im gonna guess and say i dont need wide brakes

 
for looks, the non wide brake goes up to like an 80mm waist. my ar5s are 81mm and my looks have the narrow brake, but it works fine

 
would the wide brakes stick way out on a regular (80mmish) pair of skis. I would rather get wide brakes so i can reuse them in some wider skis i get in the future but if it will look rediculous on a set of smaller waised skis, then ill just get reg ones and purchase wide brakes in the future

there are 2 kinds of wide break with many companies

one that fit 90 mm and less and one that fit 110 and less

83mm might be pushing it a bit.. probably be better off going with the wide. Look says the regs fit 80mm and under (i have 1080's that are 80mm and regs fit fine) and for 80mm and up they say to get the wide.

if your ski is within about 5 mm from the brake size you are crazy to get wide brakes. this is because most shops will bend them for you saving money. also the most important reason is that if you get the wide ones they will hang out past the sidewall of you skis giving them the potential to catch on each other when skiing. if you try bending them and it doesnt work then get the wide ones. but you definately dont want your brakes to be rubbing when you are skiing.

u have to be kidding if u believe that someone knows nothing about skiing because they asked a question about something as petty as brakes
