My Kartels broke when my Griffons tried to pull out and it cracked the core at the screws.

kind of why i like squires so much.

i feel like they would break before the core would. easy and cheap to replace.

im probably gonna get downvoted to hell for having this opinion tho.

Ppl dont want to not be able to ski while theyre waiting for new bindings. That's very wasteful, too. I would want something that doesn't fail at all.

everything will fail eventually.

i keep extra parts for all my bindings in my truck, along with tools and even extra skis.

my look and rossi box was just getting too darn big.

youre good im just asking for future readers' reference.

the indicator tab on pivots can't be trusted, although it can be a decent ballpark measure. the official manual even says this. you want to look at if/where the heel of the boot contacts the heelpiece (i usually got for a sliver of space in between the two off the bat), the angle that the dildo makes when boot is snapped in (should be around 80 degrees), should have no side to side movement in the heel when snapped in (when really yanking on it you might be able to move it), and a few other things.

this tgr thread has good info for making sure its set correctly. it soudns like maybe your forward pressure was incorrectly set when you tried them out.https://www.tetongravity.com/forums...vot-FKS-forward-pressure-ignore-the-indicator

Was gonna say this. Pivot forward pressure has nothing to do with the white tab thing on the heel. As a skier i love the binding, but as a ski tech; i fucking hate them lmao

Eh the totally indestructible thing is a little over hyped but i just like how they ski and look??‍♂️??‍♂️

Indestructible is just a silly phrase for skiing. Especially as I got better at freeride, sometimes big people jump 15+ ft onto a rock a single inch under the snow and tomahawk. Like. At some point any ski would explode. It's fine.

Exactly

I’m on Marker squires w/ elan slingshots. cheapest park set up I’ve ever bought. $350 new. Highly recommend. And I’m on some weed too

I dont understand bindings at all. I just hate how much pivots cost and I like to see how rapid NS is in defending them.

The price is cause mfs will pay that pivots used to be cheap as fuck

You used to be able to find fks on old race skis at thrift shops.

that was when pivots were actually cool

I'd argue that they're cooler than ever now. With so many options out there that are just as good if not better, the only reason they are so popular is they are "cool." Before, they really were better and earned their popularity. Now, they have just retained it while everybody else has more or less caught up in technology and design.

LOL so glad I don't.

"I was just skiing along and noticed my ski started to rise up! I don't know what happened! I never fell and mainly ski blue runs!"
