Im considering buying this binding, But Im not sure what the plastic shit is on the heel piece is, i want a full metal pivot binding. Possible its just a stupid protection that i can take off?

Have you handled pivots before in person? They all have the same heel piece, and a small bunch of parts including the fw pressure indicator and mounting plate are plastic.

Are you talking about this? This is part of the forward pressure indicator, the binding won’t work properly without. I genuinely hope you’re kidding because if you’re not you should probably look into a Griffon or something

When people talk about 15/18s being all metal they really just mean they have a metal toe, as opposed the the plastic toes on the 12/14s. Definitely dont start removing parts just cause they are plastic, youll just end up with maybe 75% of a non-functional binding. Also those are pretty old, I wouldnt be surprised if a shop turned you down if you bring them in to be mounted

I learned this year. Don't buy used old pivots. They have high chances of breaking or not working

idk boys I bought some absolutely thrashed but still functioning black and gold fks 155s off of a guy on NS and they still work fine

Im sure theres good times with used bindings. I bought a pair and they didn't work at all. I still used them for parts tho

I figured. I have two p14 toes that my buddy gave me a few years ago and I've been trying to find heels for a while

Tough thing to find. The toes are pretty indestructible. Especially with cast being to popular people buy up heels so fast
