Longest rail idea

Alright, i was just looking at the photo gallary and someone posted a pic of some train tracks, i got to thinking if you found some tracks that where on a incline somewhere or even go towed in behind a skido you could have one hella long rail sliding train tracks. Would it work. Just a thought.

the problem is train tracks are so rusty, that your skis wont slide on them. You could file them down and wax them up, but that'd take too damn long.

Copper has a 100 foot rail now, it is really sick, they set it at the end of last winter at the Ford Freeride Challange. It is a dope rail, and sick to slide it all the way!

train tracks arent rusty spinks, the sides are but the top is like a finley polished stainless steel pot. The reason the top of the tracks is so smooth is cause of the steel wheels of the train causing friction. But i see the point of the tracks being low. Was just an idea though

lets make a mile long rail that goes down mountain

i predict in year 2010 there will be no snowboarders and all freeskiers , why because skiing kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i guess i was just a little bias toward the train tracks around here that have been abandoned for 5 years. But on active tracks i think it may be doable. Who gives a shit if it is too low, if you can slide for 1000 feet on the train tracks, that kicks ass!

it's been tried by many many people, and train tracks for some reason are waaaaaaay too sticky, you'de slide 20 feet tops (with a really fast in run) and then stop.

sliding train track is focking fun... untill you hit tha place were two piece are joined together........

believe me.. it's far from being fun when you hit those shits at mach 3

I've thought about that on the tracks in truckee for a while now, but yeah I could see how they wouldn't be real slick

My friend asked me if i wanted to lay out or go water skiing, and thats when i realized that i dint want to answer this question and or any other aquatic sports question and i didn't want to see any of these people again. Next thing I new I went nuts.

Ya, I've thought of this too, but I thought of holding on to the back of the train with a rope, like wakeboarding, but grinding the whole time.

Why was the cookie crying?

Because he was feeling crummy!

Why was the kleenex dancing?

Because he had a little boogy in him.

Peter Olenik did a 100 foot rail in Colorado this year. Buttermilk linked 5 twenty foot rails together. he was on the rail foreverrrr
