Gonna keep it quick and simple. Im about 1.73 cm and i got the 178 blends, am i fucked up? My plan was to use them all mount/pow/park. Now that i got them here they seem HUGE.

Using blends for anything other than dancing on knuckles?

That's where you fucked up.

I tried a pair for about 1 hour. I am about 6'2 and 180lbs. I tried to ollie over a ditch but they just folded under my weight and I looped out. Also landing tricks/carving was scary because I could feel the ski twisting up under me.

They seem like an awesome ski for skiing benches but I would NEVER take a pair out for all mountain or pow.

Well there's your problem, you need ant sized skis

Believe it or not i was stupid enough to get them larger because i thought that they would give me the stability the blends lack. Also im gonna send it in the park this year so a longer ski would help me with the landings and learnings. Well guess i fcked up. Gonna have to man up

Haha relax, I was just making a joke because you listed your height in centimeters. I feel like my old high school science teacher now. I assume you meant meters, those skis are fine

The blends are super soft skis. Don't get me wrong, having super soft skis certainly has a negative effect on your all mountain capabilities, but if your skis are long enough then they should be ok. Super flexy skis that are on the shorter side are not good for your skiing because you'll flex out if you land backseat or noseheavy switch, and the skis will be very unstable when you're charging fast. But if your blends are taller than you then youre probably fine.

Does Anyone know the real softest ski on the market? Disregarding whatever the company advertises them as.

I'm quite a big guy and ride the 185 blends for all mountain, bit of park, playing around etc and they are great. Don't get me wrong - they chatter a bunch when you're going fast so you've got to keep on top of them a bit, and if its a super icy bumpy day then you might want to grab a different ski, but for just skiing around finding stuff to ollie off etc they're super fun. enjoy!

lol they actually are advertised word for word as "the softest ski on the market."

If you see someone riding them they definitely are softer than anything else I have ever seen. I have not gotten a chance to ride them yet

Are 160s good for someone who is 5'5?

short answer: yeah they'll be fine

long answer: a good rule of thumb is to start with your height and add or subtract length based on skill level, style, preferences, what you use them for etc. so youre 165cm, but if youre new ish to the sport, or prefer shorter skis, 160 will be fine. if youre growing you might want to size up a tiny bit so you don't outgrow them super quickly though

well you wouldn't grow into 160s, those will be a little short on you to start. but that won't be a big issue at all unless you are going huge or really prefer longer skis

im only 15 and havent had my growth spurt yet so i think i would grow

I like my skis a little shorter cuz I do most of my skiing in the trees. It really all comes down to personal preference. I prefer a smaller turning radius and it still allows me to charge steep stuff and cliffs.

yeah, in that case you might want to go a bit bigger, unless of course you won't have a problem buying new skis when you grow, or prefer much shorter skis than normal

173cm=5'8".... Sure your skis are taller than you. Depending on your skill level that may be fine. I'm 6' (183cm) and have 188cm skis.

Considering they're twins, the length won't be as noticeable as if you got something more directional since a lot of that length will be behind your binding. My advice. Man up. You'll be fine.

For Blends Id say you got the right size. really depends what resort you ski at andd what you are throwing them at in all mountain. I have a 100 waisted park ski as well and took them into days with 2-6inches and they were perfect. I didnt want to drag around my 120 waist bentchetlers for that all day. Anywhere above 6-7 inches they made me want my pow skis so I never rode them again after my first occurrence in deep stuff. They will be a fun slash/surfy ski anywhere but it takes away from high speed ability so theres that to think about.

TL;DR They will be a fun surfy/slashy ski that will be fun in park and 1-6inches or so of pow. They won't go mach 10 without turning into a floppy sandwich. They are not a chargy ski. Do nose butters.

apparently wets are stiffer than blends, never thought so myself

I have a pair of both and I do have to say that Blends are softer in the tips than Wets are. However, because they weigh quite a bit more, I can actually get into more of a flex when i'm riding with the wets if that makes any sense.
