Longer skis

im getting back surgery them summer and am expected to grow

im about 5 9 and my skis 160 come to my nose, im looking to get about 170 this summer

is that the right size and how should i mount them?

also, will i notice the +10cm will i still be able to 7 and such?

it really depends on how you ride. for park, i prefer shorter skis and a centre (or close to) mount, mostly because they're lighter and easier to balance in the air. but a more rear mount and longer skis is better if you want to go faster and are also down for more terrain.

so don't go too long if you still want to be able to shred park, but don't go too short if you want to be able to shred everything.

...so 170 for trees and some back country but shred park?

i might be about 5 10 or eleven after surgery

thanks for all the help

170 sounds about right, but you also need to take into consideration what skis you'll be getting. if you got a park-orientated ski, you might want to go longer for the rest of the mountain, but if you got a backcountry ski you might want to go shorter for easier park. and the type of ski plays a huge part in determining where you mount.

im 5'6 and i got 175cm on the way do you think its good for me?? im probably gonna get taller next year and they are mainly for next year.

Yea i'd say that they're good for you for next year. It's a little tall though for right now if you stay the same height. I'm 5'6 and have 161cm

so census is 170 is good for me

but i just am worried that going from 160 to 170 my tricks will have to be re-learned, and i will have more difficulty, could someone shed light on this probably ridiculous alligation.

Definitely get longer skis.Im 5'6 and ride a pair of 181 and 178 and it makes me a better skier. Your skiing feels way more stable and your spins are not really affected.

definitely go longer, im 5' 9'' and ride center mounted 181's. Before this i had broken a pair and were borrowing my friends 159's. The transition from 159-181 really had no affect on my skiing, 181 just makes you feel a lot more stable on landings, my spinning wasn't affected at all, i can still do 3's from flat with the 181's [claim]

im not trying to steal your thread but,

Im 5'11 and 165

and im on 161 invader's and they feel pretty stable (i don't know why :S)

but i kinda like having a somewhat shorted ski what size chronic should i get?
