Longer skis=harder rails

I was just wondering how much harder rails and boxes are going to be if I go from a 161 to a 179, and what do you guys mean by harder"?

i went from a 159 to a 180...it made rails soooo much easier after like 2 days of getting used to it. It completely depends on your size, i was being held back by my skiboard length skis

same, i went from 158 to 176..i wish i would have gone a 174, but im still growing, and armada is warrantying my 176 t-halls...we will see!

i went from 168's to 179's the 179's are real easy on rails i just have alot more balance everywhere almost

Think about it, longer skis would technically make rails easier, becuase they'd be more balanced, unless of course you can't control them.

with 180s, i can still easily 270 onto sidestep rails. long skis=better in every way

im assuming it means u get on the rail from popping of a jump to the side instead of just jumping strait at it

won't make a difference, you'll find you have more control, it might take a day or two to get used to with lipslides and spins on due to the longer tail.

you couldnt POSSIBLY notice a difference between 174 and 176

its seriously this much:

|.....| tip

|.....| tail

Exactly, shit there could be that much difference in the way 2 companies measure.

and to the thread maker- dont worry about it, if your on skis that fit you thats as easy as its going to get, so buy them to fit, it might take some getting used to but you'll be fine

longer skis are more stable on everythin i went from 155 to 176 i wish i was always ridin bigger skis. the only thing is my spinning slowed down alot

what do you guys htink 174 foils to 185 arv's

im 6 foot 170 and the foils were center mounted and the arvs are plus 4 i believe

I saw this thread, and I thought someone jumped on my username to make a n00b thread. Please change your icon. :)

well the arv and foil arent in the smae class. but If your riding some pow, which I would assume you are the 185 at 6 ft will ride great.

unless you go too big. i'm 5'3" and ride a 171 for park. sometimes it's a bit of weight to be spinning around for one my size

I went from a 141 to 168 (168s over my head) and it was the biggest difference everywhere. It helps if they're centred though. Now im exactly 168cm tall and on 175s and 171s, both centred, they both kill it everywhere, but my 175s feel alot more stable.

well when i went from my 165 trouble makers to the 204 K2 TR Comps only the approcah was different you dont notice any major change on the rail

i went from my 150s almost ski blades to 169s this year and from what i can tell on a little rail in my yard is that theses are waaay easier.

well last year i had 141's and i am buying 175 arvs. my 141 ones were mounted way back to so they had no tail. so i hope rails are easier

I went from a 158 Scratch pro to a 176 T-Hall. IM not on 176 Ar6s, but moving down to some 171 watchlifes next season. Im 5'8.

im going from a 137 LOLOLLOLOLLO to a 161 its gonna be a lot easier cause i skied my friends skis that were 159s and i like them so much more

If you are that size and weight you should have never been skiing on 174 foils to begin with. get yoself some bigger skis man

i jsut bought 181's and i am 5'10 160 pounds with peoples experience on long skis how do you think that it wll work out?
