i'm lookin for a longboard. idk much about them. i've been using my friends who has a crackedskull drop through. i like it but she's a foot shorter than me and she says i should get a larger one. i'm 6'3" and i'm just doin it for cruising. what would u guys suggest?

kracked skulls are awesome first timer boards, they can do all aspects great. Just know that every one I have ever seen (at least five) have broken in the same exact spot around the one year mark.

About size, get whatever you feel comfortable on, I ride everything from my 29" slalom deck to my friends 50 something inch dancer, its all about finding what you like and is most comfortable for your style.

Get the Bustin maestro. It is around 37in and has some nice flex. Plus it is really low to the ground so it is great for pushing around. The only thing is people hate on Bustin because I guess they send bad boards so

Long Board Larry! My little brother just got a 5ish ft board from him and everything about it is custom. They email you and ask you what kind of specs you want and paint and all that shit.

Original apex 37, the new one whit bears and orangatang. Loaded dervish or vanguard, good board, but $$$$. Kracked skull are nice, cheap and fun. I have a apex 37 and i love it.

original and Loaded are overpriced/hyped boards, they cost so much because of the awesome marketing they so. Kracked skulls offers a range of diffrent sized boards, but you should also check out BC Longboards and If your interested check out silverfish longboarding. it's like a more mature NS

I love my m1 and i've had it for two summers now. That being sad my friend did break his scimitar, but the owner was great with the warranty. I would definitely recommend Kracked Skulls.

I do still support Kracked Skulls, the guys super legit. I should also explain that all the ones ive seen break are the 46 scimitars, theres a problem in the design and they all break right under the bolts of the extra piece of support wood. Even with this flaw Id still take a KS over loaded/original any day. I cant overstate it enough how much I hate, mainly loaded, but also original and sector 9.

If you want a board made by someone who loves what they do, look into Soda Factory here

http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com/forum/longboarding-skateboard-vendors-manufacturers/100717-welcome-soda-factory-clutch-airotica-candy-spanks.html

super legit all my boards are from Rus.

If you want something for just for cruising get a cruiser board because there much small like a regular board and much easier to carry around.

I mean get one if you want, but there are so many other boards out there made by people who care about what they do and are not a marketing image (I know Im so fuckin core right?) but its true, just check the link I posted, Rus is truly the man and will talk you through the process of buying a board even if that means selling you a cheaper board. I havnt dealt with longboard larry but I get the idea its the same deal.

I also dont think bamboo feels all that good, it just intensifies all road vibration unlike maple decks. I never understood camber either, how does it possibly help? A drop deck or drop through accomplishes the same thing, that is making the deck lower, but it still maintains stability at speed.

I dont care what you say, you cannot DH on a loaded, and on the off chance you can youve got bigger balls than me, but tell me why all of the DH and slide videos on http://www.skatehousemedia.com/home use basically every other major board company but loaded.

Alot of what I say is biased for the type of riding I like but I also believe Ive spent enough time riding every board I can get my hands on to know what im talking about. I mean it when I say loaded just really isnt the shit like everyone thinks. If you want loaded get one, but youll be like every other bro who considers anything over 20 mph DH, a Kracked Skulls gets you a better board for way less money and supports sweet old dude who makes the boards himself.

end pretentious douchbag rant/

oh yeah scroll most of the way down the page on the Skate House Media link i posted watch Raw Run: Gnarbomb for some good longboard stoke.

i totally agree on supporting the smaller companies and repping their stuff, but loaded does make some really nice stuff. I have a tan tien and love it, i also have a LBL salamander, LBL Humu, Arcane custom dancer, and a new Kuya Mini Hero prototype board and i like them all equally as much. I see a lot of people starting to hate on loaded, i just dont see why, my brother still has his original dervish from when it first came out and its still cruising and sliding like a champ.

woo glad my response wasnt taken too seriously, was afraid of the backlash for a minute. Id still rather ride a KS over Loaded though.

Ordered my Bustin Maestro a week ago. Fully customized, hoping for it to be dope. And if the board snaps or some shit, they'll send you a new one.

The Bustins are pretty sick, my friend has one, the only thing I would change about it is that it is concaved on only half the board. little uncomfortable at first but its still a sick board
