Longboards, are they for me?

I have been meaning to get a longboard for a while now but im wondering if their the right choice. Obviously im not looking to skate park or street as it is impossible with longboards( although i was a intermediate skater before i gave it up) Im basically just looking to cruise around. im not looking to bomb Im just looking to carve around and getting from point A to point B.

Now this is what i was wondering, when i told my friend i wanted a longboard so i could cruise and shit he's like "Why the hell would you want a heavy as longboard for just getting from point A to point B?? just stick with a normal short board because they are way lighter and cheaper"

I know short boards ( or "normal" boards) are infact cheaper but i was wondering if they are actually the better choice for crusing and short distance traveling.

yeah me and my friends got some and we go EVERYWHERE on them the best summer choice ive ever made without a doubt. get one

Long-boarding is a completely different experience. The turns are not as sharp but it is much smoother. Plus it is the only thing that keeps me sane till the ski season starts.

i ride a longboard, my friend rides a short board. i go faster than him for sure. plus its just a way nicer ride, especially if some of the concrete you have to skate over is less than perfectly smooth.

lol i have a bike, a pretty decent one too.( dirtjumping/ park)

2005 Kona Shred with Mods such as

Rock shox Argyle 409

Diety twenty 14 handle bar

Diety Vendetta Crack set

BLK market underboss stem

and more but oi wont bore you.

and how important is the flex and shit of the board. i dont have much money so i dont need a board from bustinboards, sector nine, landyathz(sp?) etc...

I know those ebay brands are obviously no where near the quality of actuall brands but is something like this really going to be that bad??

there deffinatly a way better way of getting around compared to a short board. if your just using it for transportation and not for downhill or sliding and stuff like that then yes those ebay boards will work fine. for just getting around the deck isnt as important as the wheels and trucks. try and find a complete that has preferably bear trucks if not then randals will do, and some abec 11 wheels or Big Zig wheels. you'll want about a 70-78mm wheel. or buy the deck seperate and i know on ebay they have truck and wheel packages that are pretty cheap.

nah man, longboards are wayyyyy too cool for you. stick to walking or taking the bus, less of a chance of you getting mistaken for somebody fuh-resh.

Dude go on the sector nine website, get a complete they are like 160 and yes they are worth it. go borrow one, find a huge hill and hold nothing back i think you will find it very similar to slaying on snow

get a kracked skulls m1 or scimitar. it'll fit your needs. for wheel either get flashbacks or gumballs, gumballs are better between the two.

Definately go for it. I didn't see myself as much of a skater before, but I gave it a try and loved it. Its such a smooth feeling and other than how scary and annoying cars are, its just really fun and fast. Its worth investing in.

you definitely wont have regrets if you get one. and you're gonna like bombing a lot more than youll think so dont get a carving only board
