I was hiking up a hill today and when I got to the top, a great idea struck me. "Hey, download a gps speedometer for your wonderful, crack cocaine-like Droid X". I then downloaded 'speedview' for droid and shit son, this little bugger is packed full of shit i didn't even know I wanted. I bet even you iphags can hop off the dick long eno

ugh to 'find an app for that'.

he is a mac fanboy, but instead of loving macs he loves microsoft. He makes fun of people who use apple products, yet people make fun of him for using microsoft products, and people believe there company is better and we run in circles

I'm a mac fan, ive got an htc evo, but a mac laptop

I bought the htc evo cause when you look at all the features and stuff they are a copy of the iphone, and there cheaper

some kids i know did this skiing, but they couldn't figure out how to turn off the phone lock and it would stop recording and go to standby mode after a minute

they were still pushin 70 tho

Have a friend follow you in a car and hold a steady speed behind you. Not the most scientific but I'm claiming 31mph.
Would be awesome for skiing though. I have zero frame of reference for how fast I'm going on skis and I've always wondered.

how do these speedometers work? wouldnt they be inaccurate, due to the fact that they track your horizontal movements, but wouldnt it be hard for them to track vertical distance?

if it is only measuring horizontal distance, and you are going down a steep hill, you would probably be going faster than it says right?

coooool! having a iphone makes you the shit instantly. it also makes chicks randomly have sex with you and suggests that you have oodles of money. ass

I believe that it takes the grade of the terrain into account. I'm saying this because it displays your altitude along with speed. That would simply add another variable into the speed calculation, so it seems reasonable that it would work in such a way.

This is purely speculative, I honestly have no idea how it works. I know it works well though because I drive with it at night and it matches my cars' speedo. The Speedview app has a feature that puts a reversed speed/direction/altitude reading on the phone, and I can put it on my dash and the display reflects off of the window like a heads-up display. (FUCKING BADASS!!!!)

so i work at a veizon store and for those people that think they are the shit because they have an iphone $g or actaully any iphone. Droids are that sick eh? my contract is running up soon and I was looking into them despite pressure from my buddies to fork up cash and get an iphone or a blackberry.

Iphone 4G V. DroidWhen u buy a phone and u want ur phone to be slow, drop many calls with bad coverage, have many software problems and hardware problems as well as not being able to use widgets. get the iphone. but i think its pretty clear what phone is better. droid

I can't even imagine that, the difference between 20 and 30 is mind boggling. At 20 you might as well be going 5 and at 30 you mights as well be going 100..

i got clocked skiing once. it was a few years ago, and im faster now.
i was going 81km/h or mp/h i forget but whatever it was i can defs go faster now.
oh and thats just straight down the hill. like bombing for a final kicker.

ah. nevermind. i just downloaded a speedometer app and you have to implement vertical distance yourself.
