Alrigth well first of all I have never owned a longboard and im just wondering if a 48.75" sector 9 is a good choice. Is it too long for a beginner. If so what size should i get?

i love my 40 incher. youll be fine though, make sure you have some randalls on that shit. its gonna be long and solid, like an old cadi'.

read up and learn. useful info u can use to find the right board for you. i'll just say my usual.

Loaded Longboards- best i've ever ridden

longer boards are the shit that'll be fine for bombing big hills, but shorter boards are more manuverable, and I want in to the longboarding cult.

what model is it? the "bomb hills"?

also what trucks u planning on running on this thang. cause i'd go for randall RII's for a longer board like that.

what kind of riding? cruising, bombing, sliding, ancing, commuting, or just general.

if you really want to know try to find a chill shop who will let you take it for a spin in the parking lot

sector 9 is pretty corprate but they have good beginner boards good to learn on but once you get it you'd probably like a different board. i can hook you up with a discount on bustinboards.com just pm me.

length is actually better for begginers.. its a little more stable, but that should be fine and alot of fun

and join the longboarding cult!

honestly, unless you're just terrible at sports and totally unathletic, you won't need a "beginner" board. longboarding really isn't hard unless you get into sliding stuff which really isn't longboarding anyway. i don't know if it's because of my skateboarding and surfing background, but the day i got my longboard i was able to carve, powerslide, walk a lil, and just ride fine. pretty much w/e board you get i'm sure you'll love because longboarding is one of the most fun things you can do.

yea...I don't snowboard or surf or anything, and I could still longboard very easily within a few days. as long as you are a generally athletic person with good balance, you don't need a "beginner" board.

sector nine's are lame as hell. if you want an actual longboard that is like sherdin waves on the pavement fork over the extra cash and buy a flex dex. or if you dont want to spend that much get a landyatz(sp). both are far superior too all other LB's and will last much, much longer

esp the flex dex
